I heard GM was getting rid of the Malibu. That the 2024 malibu was going to be the last year it was going to be made. Chevy was going to go EV, in place of the malibu. Very confused.

What a goofball. I have 164,500+ miles on my 2014 Malibu , and no problems whatsoever. I had transmission flushed and had NO problems at all.
