@@therightcar I guess it's because Chinese characters condense more information and the language also has a very flexible grammatical system than English so they appear to be shorter in length and in general, takes less time to interpret and get used to eventually. The other thing will obviously be the half-baked translations but I'm sure that this can be resolved quite easily if the companies put some effort in.
@jimmyhan465012 күн бұрын
Deepal S07 in China's domestic market is one of the most popular SUVs to buy simply because it's large enough to accommodate a big family with the top-spec version (fitted with Huawei's indigenous ADAS platform which you could find similar ones in e.g. Aito M5&M7&M9, Changan Avatr 07&11&12 and BYD Denza B8, not the official name but based on the naming convention of the highly-anticipated B5 which was spotted in Australia recently) priced under ¥200k (~$44000) and loaded with a full suite of high-end tech with outstanding comfort options and that the cabin space is designed very well to cater for the Chinese standards. However, Deepal's parent company Changan earned a notorious reputation long ago of having everything executed almost to perfection except for that very soft suspension, can't think of anything else but this one. Like some people also commented on the BYD Sealion 07, it is priced higher than S07 in China and equipped with the newly launched indigenous EVO 3.0 electronic architecture which is more sophisticated and superior in my opinion and it does have a sibling called 宋L (Song L, unfortunately, it doesn't have the EVO 3.0 platform when it was launched unlike the Sealion 07) which shares the same architecture with BYD Denza N7, and indeed a very underestimated car in terms of dynamics and driving comfort with 16 speakers Devialet sound system across the entire trim specs. Btw, BYD has recently launched two flagships 唐L (Tang L) and 汉L (Han L) and the specific EV versions of the two are unprecedentedly listed with the RWD version being 500kW single electric motor and the AWD version being 230kW front and 580kW back respectively. Yeah, the latter AWD has a whopping combined power output of 810kW like wtf for real. The very last thing that I want to point out is that the ADAS systems of almost every new car locally tuned here in Oz are just so underwhelming like I have never seen anything like these after reviewing literally hundreds of vlogs from honest owners in mainland China.
@lastethica15 сағат бұрын
how about geely ex5, and does ADAS from korean is better than china? such as the new santa fe hybrid?
@jimmyhan4650Сағат бұрын
@ EX5 in my opinion would be just another normal car tbh and ADAS is always about being calibrated well enough or not however every manufacturer’s ADAS is different in terms of the no. features equipped with, there’s much more than just something like “lane keeping assist”. I have seen one test drive of the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid top spec Calligraphy and overall it’s a decent car that does well enough in almost all aspects but certainly the interior material choices really lack a luxurious touch compared to something like GWM Tank 500 Ultra Hybrid. ADAS wise I think calibration is something that all manufacturers can do well upon if they all spent some efforts into it. Features wise (ADAS) the Chinese triumphs decisively but obviously this is exclusive to those real flagships that are not sold here yet but you should expect some of them are arriving pretty shortly like the Denza B5 which is indeed a much better offering than the Santa Fe hybrid especially with the enormous PHEV DMO (O stands for off-roading, same with the Shark Ute) powertrain platform (505kW & 760Nm), and that BYD is known to fix problems very quickly so the ADAS calibration of the Denza B5 should be pretty accurate. Denza B5 is larger than Santa Fe btw.

A serious question… how can we pressure ANCAP to properly assess vehicle safety systems? It seems that manufacturers are putting in features that tick the box, even if they may make driving more dangerous either by being distracting (like the attention monitors) or dangerously overbearing (lane keep assist that will try and force you off the road or breaking assist that phantom breaks)? If drivers have to turn off these safety features to make the journey safer, surely they shouldn’t tick the box for the 5 stars! Is this something that we have to lobby government to step in because it seems to be getting worse.

Bravo for calling out poorly calibrated ADAS systems. They are a complete turnoff for me. Sorry Matt, I stopped watching at that point of your review because seriously, my interest level in this car just disappeared (I did hit like though because you have saved me a lot of time with your honest review). Why is it so hard for manufacturers? In some cars it is seamless and valued, in this instance you would (if you could ignore the noise) simply stop trusting what it was reacting to. Maybe that should be a new measure in a car's safety - ADAS measurement, how many times does a system fail or inappropriately trigger; the figures should then be published along with efficiency figures.

Xpeng G6 is the best so far I can say including better than the new Tesla model y in terms of a trade off between technology and price. If you don't add $5100 for enhanced autopilot, there is a normal EV only not a high tech EV. The 800v architecture EV helps to save energy and as a result, your battery life is longer and the degradation pf your battery is slower than the 400v (if there energy management technology is good the same)

You should mention with any EV report what an 11kW 3 phase AC at home will most likely cost, and getting your supplier to agree to approving a 3 phase setup at your home. It will be 22kW no doubt, and the vehicle will shape you to 11kW at the inverter. So, getting over that you might go for 7.2kW for 32A 240V at home, as 10A 240V will take soooo long on larger battery packs. Add at least $2.5k to the price for that, IMO.
@therightcar15 күн бұрын
Good idea but I won’t be adding that in. Prices and situations vary too much.
@GolLeeMe15 күн бұрын
@Yeah, I get that, and your thought makes sense. But you might mention it in passing in some way. Perhaps ask the dealer? I doubt many people know what AC charging impediments there really are and they should make a point of checking it out. It can be eye watering, and providing you get the thumbs up from the supplier of course. For most DC fast charging will be the go to, but to what extent will rapidgating and coldgating occur. Not many understand the complexity of this, and neither should they in a perfect world. After all, they’re just buying a vehicle. 🚗
