Who doesn't like a kit-vid? Love seeing what others have and how they make their kit choices, how they use certain bits of kit and multi-role uses. Can learn so much. Good upload. ATVB

hey i have a question, some time ago i tried to sleep in my garden to see how i would feel and it got to -3 at night, i had a 5°C comfort sleeping bag and was cold with all the clothes, i see that you have only a 1°C comfort, is it a good idea to spend money in a warmer sleeping bag, or is it best to just start hiking when it is warmer, thanks.

Great question, first thing I'd say is never delay, if you want to start, just go for it and don't be afraid to make mistakes. I've made plenty but always make sure to do it a controlled environment if im trying something new. For example I've just finished filming my latest camp testing some new winter gear but I took the car and stayed at a site if I needed to bail. With regards to the bag, I'd say if you're going to camp in winter, then definitely pay for a 4 season but don't necessarily pay alot for a new down bag initially. You can get a good synthetic one for a decent price. Remember as well that R values stack, so bring a roll mat and a sleeping pad (insulated preferably for winter), plus 4 season bag. If you're still cold, you can even add a bag liner, which is cheap enough. I tend to just wear some pyjamas short and a t-shirt and am warm enough in the winter. I camped yesterday, and it got to -2 with my 1 degree comfort, but I'd say any colder it would have been uncomfortable, but I typically am warmer than the average person. Also, I've heard you can get more expensive bags at decent prices second hand.
