Interesting list. Particularly the SSD drive. My most useful item remain the fishing vest I bought early in my “career”. I carry everything that does not require my pack: filters, cleaning equipment, small tools, batteries, extra cards, gloves, etc. in most cases, I just grab my camera with a 24-70 and the vest and go.

I am a big fan of those Samsung drives, super fast, robust - I tend to have one with me on any multi-day trip and regular use as part of my video editing process. I used to use SanDisk SSDs, but they had some QC issues that made me nervous (I was never affected, but didn't want to be checking serial numbers and model numbers all the time as I acquired new drives). I love the vest idea! A friend actually gave me a vest, but I haven't worked itself into my "workflow" yet. But with so many pockets, it would be perfect to keep that smaller stuff right at hand and possibly minimize even needing to bring a camera bag on certain outings. Even on outings where I have the full setup, just not needing to dig into the bag would be nice. I need to try to start using it more!

I appreciate that your gift guide was from actual experience and not just promoting new products. Now that hand warmer - looks fairly large. Do you just keep that in a jacket pocket and put your hands in to warm up?

Thanks - I try to give fair reviews of things - noting pros and cons, but yeah - all the items I callout in the guide were things I've purchased and been using, not just to highlight something new in a video! As for the handwarmer, it is definitely larger than chemical hand warmers - and heavier too. I just got back from an outing this morning where I made use of it, I had put it in the cargo pocket of my pants so I wouldn't forget to take it with me and then when I started using it while photographing, I turned it on and put it in my jacket pocket. I'd either just stick a hand in my pocket, or pull it out and wrap both hands around it to warm them up. I recommend turning it off between uses to save battery. It really does warm up quite quickly, so you can turn it on, and you'll feel heat within 20 to 30 seconds, warm up a bit, then turn it off and stash it away again. Hope that helps - thanks for watching!

These are good items and tips. I have most of this but appreciate the tip on using a dry brush on the sensor (I have a Z 7II) and the Samsung portable drive I appreciate. At home I use LaCie for backups. One totally won't mount and others are getting very slow. So I need to upgrade.

That dry brush is so handy, especially for that dust that rocket blower just doesn't want to dislodge, the static brush has been a nice fast way to clean things up without getting to the wet clean level. Those Samsung drives are great - SSD, super fast, and some good prices right now. I have an older LaCie around as well, mine still works, but it doesn't see much use as I've been using the SSDs for almost everything. Thanks for watching!

Excellent video as usual. I have several of the items already based upon recommendations in some of your previous videos. I like Peak Design gear so I will look at that tech bag, maybe catch a good Black Friday price. Thanks for taking the time to put the video together.

I have a set of Peak Design camera straps as well - the slide, leash, and cuff I think - with the quick attach clips, makes it so easy to use a strap, take the strap off, or swap the strap between cameras! The tech pouch was amazing. I became convinced that a tech pouch helped my workflow with just one of those Mystery Ranch pouches, but having the extra level of organization is so nice! Makes it much less likely I forget some key cable or card reader when I'm traveling! Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed the video!

@@JeffreyTadlockPhotography Several months ago I bought two Peak Design camera cubes to use when hiking. The quality is excellent. I still plan to buy a true camera backpack like you have but for longer hikes in our environment I need the 3 liter water bladder that my Osprey packs have. With a Peak Design slide strap I even use a packing cube in place of a full on camera bag for short walks in a park or beach. I ordered a tech pouch, should receive it early next week.

@@harkpt Peak Design has some good stuff in their product line - I really like their straps and I've added the tech pouch to my list of likes from them!
