At $74,000, I’ll pass. I used to buy a new truck every 6 or 7 years. Now I’ll be keeping my 2018 GMC SIERRA 2500hd for a long time.

Nice truck. Those wheels would look great on Red Hot or Thunderstorm Grey. I also like the lighter interior color too. And to answer your question, yes if you select the HD Front Springs/Camper package you will get a rating there for a slide in camper. My 2022 2500 has that option and I have a rating there. 2,627 pounds. It also raises the front axle rating to 5,200 pounds on the gas trucks.

If it was a work truck, yes it would be. However this is equivalent to a Lariat, and LTZ.

So they want 74k for this truck, my F350 XLT Premium, Sport, and FX4 with the 7.3L retailed for 68k I bought it for $63k. I have to say though, that is pretty competitive and better than ford pricing on retail comparing options. However, owning that lemon of a 2020 2500hd LTZ L5P, Chevrolet can keep them - 52 codes before I traded it off at 61k miles, also living in a state that doesn't use salt for the roads, the frame and components with that wax dip was rusting out bad. I truly feel that the new Chevrolet trucks are meant to be throw away ones. Get about 4 to 5 years, if it can make it that long and then trade it off. My next door neighbor had a 23 1500 that at 27k miles blew the motor. Chevrolet, I use to also own a 86' K20, were meant for longevity, but with my personal experience, not anymore.

@kmonto1971 IMO with the way the Light Duty ICE pick up market this past year has been one up'd by Ford and GM by non ICE offerings, it will not be long before the Medium Duty and Heavy Duty consumer pick up truck future market offers these gassers days will soon be numbered. Your next door neighbor with a 23 1500 that at 27k miles blew the engine is a thing of the past no matter what the brand. Why would anyone spend hard earned money with a possibility of a future blown engine?

They're all a gamble these days, thanks to our government. Being a fleet operator, I can tell you that GM is still more reliable and less to maintain than a Ford equivalent and has been for years in our experience. As far as rust goes, we're in Texas, so no worries on that point.

It’s hard to tell not sure if it’s the angle of the camera the gooseneck package looks like it’s over the rear axle then previous models, or did GM move the gooseneck package forward over the rear axle?

I was wondering if the 2025 SLT has the rear view mirror camera option as I believe in 2024 they did not, yet the Chevy LTZ did have that available under a technology package. Again in 2024 one had to step up to the AT4 or above to get the camera within the rear view mirror option.

My 2024 Silverado 3500 LT Duramax cost $73k. Why you would pay $74k for a gas is beyond me. And my LT has the new interior, center console, 360 camera with hitch and bed view, multi-folding tailgate, less chrome, etc… I really think buyers do not take the time to research these trucks and just look at price. If you’re looking at $100k Denali 2500 and you see this $74k gasser it makes the gas look like a bargain even if it’s not.

I like Chrome when you buy painted bumpers and everything the same color you're just saving the automaker money and take it i* t** a** i'll be buying one of these in the next few weeks. And diesels are not what they used to be.I'd rather have a gas diesel's way expensive and not very reliable.

@@joshuadavis9492 but diesel is a 10k option. The diesel has twice the torque as a gas. Drive a diesel up hill passing cars then drive a gas. It’s night and day. These trucks weigh over 4 tons. If I chose gas, then I would have paid $63k. To pay $74k for a gas doesn’t make sense when you can get almost the same truck in a Chevy LT for $10k less.

People buy gas engine trucks because they want a gas engine. They have it in their budget to get a diesel but they don't want one, so they get a gas truck with more options.

As a NYS resident, that's my biggest complaint. GM's frames look terrible after a year or 2 of our winters. Very limited undercoat options that work with the wax as well.

@@A-RSpeedI’m working here now and it’s true these cars and trucks look like hell. I’m from the south so we never have to deal with that. Surely there is another option than just salting roads by now. Do they use sand up here? They just use sand in Washington. I was working there last year this time. I know it’s not as affective but there has got to be a better way. I hope I’m out of here by November. I just got a New ford work truck. If I have to stay past November I’ll just buy an old beater up here.
