2025 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L: Start Up, Walkaround, Test Drive and Review

👋 Here is the 2025 Honda Accord! The new Honda Accord EX-L is a great way to go for an affordable family sedan with a hybrid drivetrain. I will say that the exterior styling with the 2025 Accord is a bit boring and lacks any character, but the interior feels super spacious and well appointed. I liked being in the 2025 Accord since it was comfortable, easy to use and has nice materials. This 2025 Accord was Platinum White with an MSRP around $36,000. This has a 2.0L inline 4 cylinder engine with 204 HP and 247 TQ from the hybrid system. You can also get 51 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway. The Accord drives very smooth and quite however you can hear and feel the hybrid integration with the engine. Plenty of rear seat room and trunk space to be a practical family sedan. I just which it had more exterior style to look better. But I'd love to take a long road trip in the new 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid. Seems like a great driving sedan for the money.

The only drawback is the HP, wished they would have had a trim with a V6 or at least a turbot on that I4.

Yeah that would be nice. However the hybrid system gives you instant power to make this feel probably more peppy around town then the V6 did

This is quicker that the 1.5T. And the HP is a fake number, and probably too low. All hybrids' HP ratings are fake. SAE created a calculation that says it compares to a gas-only car with a 204 HP engine. But it fails to account for just how different the power profile is, even between this and other hybrids.

It does not have a CVT; it really has no physical transmission. The transmission _system_ is called "eCVT," but it is nothing like Toyota's eCVT. Marketing calls it "electronic" CVT, but engineering calls it "electric-coupled." Most of the time, the transfer of power is done with electrons, not gears, chains, or belts.

@BrosFOURRSpeed No, Honda calls it an eCVT. Some window stickers say "Continuously Variable Transmission" in the upper-right corner. But I don't think "Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT)", which is what appears marketing literature, would fit. That sticker also says "4 Cylinder Engine" with no mention that it is a "2 L inline ... naturally aspirated Engine." Which is what you say next. Nor does it show the engine's power and torque ratings. So you obviously looked at actual spec sheets, and they say eCVT or e-CVT. This is not a trivial point, since "CVT" has bad reliability reputation, and this eCVT is bulletproof.

I am looking to a buy a car to live in as I live in New York City right now and rents are too high. I want to save money and have some equity in what I put my money into and rent ain't it. at least you own the car. I see the once the seats fold down, you can have a very nice sleeping area there, like a Toyota Prius. looks like a nice purchase. I will be test driving one soon enough...

Id go with more space if you plan to sleep in the car. Maybe find a good used Honda Civic Hatchback. That would be more practical to sleep in and would be significantly more affordable then going for a brand new Accord

I bought a 2024 EX-L and it sucks. At first it seemed nice but after owning for a while I've come to hate it. My #1 complaint is the road noise!

EV's are not becoming more popular or common. A lot of manufacturers are going back on EV's after government pushes to mandate them. It's not the way of the future. A hybrid or just a gas car will be great decades from now.

Were you driving in econ mode? Econ does not have any power, however, normal and sport mode i fly up Donner Summit. No problems with power in those two modes.
