Great review Anthony. As soon as you showed the price I thought about the Camry. That or the Sonata would be a no brainer upgrade..even the Accord. But knowing Honda they will still sell. The lack of many colors is also boring and reminds me of all the white and black Tesla's I see here so often. 86 here today and 40 last night which I do love. How are things on your side going? Only 2 weeks to go for Thanksgiving and black Friday! This year has flown by way too quickly. Hope all is well and happy Wednesday Anthony

Thank you James. They are selling them fast; so much that even with the stop sell for the hybrid, people are putting them on hold. Great vehicles but that higher price tag isn’t the best. I get tired of see black and white vehicles all the time. When I go to review I walk the dealerships 20-45 minutes trying to find other colors lol. Today was 84.5, they love the .5 instead of 85 😁 and today in the low 80s to high 70s. I am happy for the change too. Almost done with the kitchen, 3 weeks in the works and now just need the electrician to plug up the hardware. Then maybe another couple weeks to finish. Between the home improvement and how fast time going it is crazy. Happy Wednesday James

This is a different kind of hybrid than all the others. Instead of being a gas car that gets assistance on acceleration from a battery powered exclusively by braking it instead is basically an EV which is powered by an on-board generator that runs on gas. The engine doesn't burn gas to move the car except at higher speeds. It burns gas to power the battery which moves the car. This makes the Civic drive like an EV which is to say quickly, quietly, and smoothly.
@HawkeyeRides5 күн бұрын
Honda makes a good vehicle and I'm looking forward to bring more hybrids when the recall is fixed as they are not drivable due to the vehicles being able to catch fire. Which is a Con to me but at least Honda is fixing them before they sell them expect for the ones they have already sold.
@timgt57 күн бұрын
The one advantage of the Civic vs the other choices is the availability of the hatchback body option, and the Civic Hatchback is pretty spacious with cargo space comparable to a subcompact CUV, and this something you do not get with the Accord, Camry or K5/Sonata hybrids. Even in its own segment only the Corolla offers a hatchback with the hybrid drivetrain and the Civic crushes in terms of performance and interior space. In terms of sedans on the bang for the buck basis I think the Camry would be the best as hybrid is the standard drivetrain and it has considerably more power than the Civic without much of hit in Hwy mileage.
@HawkeyeRides7 күн бұрын
You forgot about Mazda which has better performance for a Hatch and VW Golf but that aside it is a awesome vehicle but my points are more than valid because of the increasing of price. Look it up and see what I mean when it comes to value.
@timgt57 күн бұрын
@@HawkeyeRides The only version of the Golf you can get is the GTI, which is a high-performance vehicle. As for Mazda3, I own a Mazda 6-great car, lots of enjoyment over the 9 years I have owned it, and your point would be valid if you were talking about the ICE only Civic or the previous 1.5T. But neither the Mazda 3 nor the VW have a hybrid, and the primary reason that people would get the Hybrid would be the fuel economy. Also, from 0-60 the Civic Hybrid is only about a 1/2 second off the Mazda 3 Turbo and obviously quicker than the NA version, nearly as quick as the GTI, so the best of both worlds' good performance and great gas mileage. So, while the upfront costs are higher the fuel economy would cover the diff in about the same amount of time as you would have the loan for it. If I were shopping this car, I would only look at the hatch, which also boasts considerably more cargo than the GTI or the Mazda3. As far as sedans go as I stated you could make a case for the Camry or the Accord Hybrid being better values.

Here in Canada the VW GTi costs about the same as the Civic Hybrid Hatchback. Hybrid owner here: your mpg doesn't get better. It gets worse. Manufacturers lie about hybrid MPG. You have to throttle so slowly that you enrage everyone behind you and drive consistently well below the speed limit to achieve those numbers which are "possible" if thats what you want to call it. High city mpg doesn't exist. Manufacturers lie about city MPG. Do not get a hybrid if you only drive around town. You'll get some savings as a commuter, but not $10k worth.

TLDR: the Accord is a better car, for not-much-more monies. I'm not sure I agree. It's certainly better in some ways, but it's less attractive.. the forward visibility is better here as well. I recently drove a new Civic Sport sedan (non hybrid as they don't have hybrids in stock to test) and a new Accord Sport (hybrid). I liked the Accord better, just feels more substantial, comfortable, and quiet. Also the Hybrid has plenty of power on the highway. I wanted to drive an Accord 1.5 t today, but could not due to a "Stop Sale" on that model. Civic is a little more fun to drive and I like the styling better
