I don't tow, I don't go off-road, I do occasionally need to haul stuff, and I love it's smooth "untrucky" ride. That's why Ridgeline is a great vehicle for me. It's the pickup truck for people who don't want a pickup truck... except when they do.

I might contend that it does 100 percent of what about 80 percent of truck owners will need. And many of the things it does that do not involve hard core off-roading or heavy towing, it does better than those others.

Just bought a new Ridgeline Trailsport and i love it !!! I got it for my wife who wanted a small truck. Looked at Toyotas etc. And basically bought it off the the lot without much research because her other car blew an engine. Long story short...after driving this thing i want to sell my Toyota Tundra fullsize to get one of these.

Nicely done video! I have owned two Ridgelines and have really enjoyed the features, comfort and the ride! When loading groceries into the "secret compartment" in the bed, I get a lot of questions and comments from other folks. As someone who just needs to haul a few bags of fertilizer occasionally, the "truck" debate is moot. Plus, when my wife needs to ride along, she can easily climb into our Ridgeline because it's NOT a truck. Works great for us!

It's pointless to debate the "it's not a real truck" argument. The Ridgeline is a very competent vehicle that executes its mission extremely well. I'm a happy owner of my 2nd Black Edition, and I place the vehicle squarely in the IYKYK category. I can do everything I need to with this vehicle, and I'm not punished for the short comings of having a "real truck". The cost of ownership, the ride quality, and the ability to live with it daily is what really differentiates this vehicle from the other "trucks". When my needs exceed what my Ridgeline can do, then I get a "real truck"... but I wouldn't argue that it would necessarily be a better truck.

Good review, but for about $49K, it is very surprising that Honda does not offer their “360-degree,” Multi-View Camera System (MVCS) on this truck. At the present time, I believe the only model Honda offers this option is on the Pilot. This does not make sense. This is one of the best safety options for a pickup truck. Honda should equip their MVCS on all of their vehicles as standard equipment.

I wish you would have enlightened the audience about the other features of the Special Edition as to why its more expensive. For instance the courtesy lights on the front doors, the windshield wiper heater located on the dash. Also the 540watt sound system. The rear controls and outboard rear heated seats. I do delight in your videos.😃

I’ve been looking at this vehicle for a while and it’s growing on me. When I first looked at this current generation I thought that it ain’t a truck unless it’s a body on frame design but I’ve realized how stupid that maxim is; a 1966 corvette isn’t a pick up truck simply because it utilizes a body on frame design. This vehicle makes so much sense for what I need. The tail gate and trunk are fantastic and the payload is great with good towing capability and independent suspension is next level. I’ve never heard of one of these having any major reliability issues. This will be my next vehicle. I currently own a 2006 Tacoma…waiting for it to have some issues as an excuse to purchase a new vehicle but I think I might have to send it over a cliff or drive it into the ocean to accomplish this task.

I bought new a 23 Ridgeline. It is a fantastic driving machine for a mid size truck. It handles superbly. Overall performance is very good. Interior features are nice. The info screen could have been better but not a deal breaker. My greatest gripe is the lack of good interior lighting. At this price point Honda should have provided much more lighting that is customizable particularly in the footwell. That is the only fall short of the design of the Ridgeline I will call a foul. My 23 Ridgeline has not disappointed me. I would definitely buy again. Black edition? Opposed to the RTL? Maybe? I am very satisfied with my 23 RTL. The navigation that comes with the RTL-E or Black Edition would be a very valued feature. Instead I opted for the factory tonneau cover for the bed. And I am glad I did for what that cover offers. Overall, I rate this: its Honda. I am a fan of the company and its products. Period. Value for the $ spent is has not ever been a disappointment in my experience. Not cheap for sure but quality is top line.

Great review, as always! I drove a 2023 Ridgeline RTL-E for 13 months before trading it in on a 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Overall, the Ridgeline was a nice ride. However, I was not a fan of the push button shifter or the VCM, which is part of why I traded it in. To me the most obvious deficiency is the exterior styling. It is as plain as vanilla ice cream. Honda really needs to redesign the exterior via body lines, moldings, etc. With that said, it’s definitely a better choice than a lot of the competition.

Almost forgot. The Ridgeline Black Edition is the best daily driver and long range trip car I have ever owned. However, it is a very lousy tow vehicle. BS on the 5000 pounds towing capacity, but suffers from the following : no tow mirrors available, no tow mode, no anti sway dampener and Honda doesn’t even make a brake controller or have a good place to mount one. My RV only weighs 3000 lbs and swayed all over the place. I did however solve my problem. I gave it to my wife and traded her SUV in on a full sized truck. One last thing, you always tow in2 wheel drive. You can adjust on a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but not the all wheel drive Ridgeline. FYI.

I disagree on your point that it is a lousy tow vehicle. I will agree that I was surprised to find that a factory brake controller was not installed when a 7-pin socket is there. I bought a decent proportional brake controller and installed it without much trouble on the kick panel beneath the steering wheel. The factory "pigtail" for wiring it up was included in the glove box. The hardest part was getting it plugged in under the dashboard near the parking brake as I had to contort myself in a way that would've made Houdini proud, to plug it in. My camper is 2400lbs dry and 3100lbs loaded. I made sure that everything inside was placed properly and I have had zero sway issues, without a weight distributing hitch. Yes, a lack of "tow" mode did have the trans hunting a bit but putting the tranny in sequential mode will give you more control over gears by using the paddles. The mileage when towing sucks, but that is a given regardless of the vehicle. The faster you go, the worse it will be. Keep it sane and it will be reasonable.

Of course it's a truck. Even the little trucks from Ford are trucks. It depends on what you need it for. My big concern is people buying trucks to cart kids around. Get an SUV if that's what you want. I've been without a truck for almost five years. I miss it and need it for my bees and towing a small boat for fishing. Absolutely love the back trunk under the bed. A friend of mine has an old Ridgeline and absolutely loves it. I may look at a new and a used. It's between this truck and the Nissan Frontier.

Both of those are in a totally different class of vehicle, especially the Maverick. That thing has a POS interior. It looks like someone cut a hole out of the dashboard with a dremel and shoved the screen in there. Both are MUCH smaller. The Ranger would be the comparable Ford.

I just bought a 2025 Ridgeline Sport. I just cannot justify spending $7000 more for this black edition and basically getting nothing in return. It's a great truck, but why spend the extra money when the Sport edition has everythingbyou need?

I actually love Hondas but they gotta upgrade this to the blackberry/black jack/black diamond 💎 or black platinum version. That blackedition is so 2017". I repeat that Blackedition is very 2017"- I Quote its 2025-2026" why are we not starting the year with a super charged turbocharger + cold 🥶 air intake. A 3" lift kit . 20 inch wheel and tire package. Panoramic moon roofing - more leg room 6inches more space from driver to passenger seating 💺. Also 6inches more space front seats 💺 to rear seats also the truckbed needs that extra foot length and width including the exterior of the truck body . The good part of the vehicle is you can fold up the back seats to storage extras or just recline the front seats to ease your driving experience. But it's definitely a need for more space between the 💺 seating space . I only got 1 more issue. The truck bed height doesn't really cover much so it should be a portion that interlocks so that any appliances or other items that's loaded on the bed don't tip over / fall out due to it not being high enough to secure the side walls of the truck bed ... but hopefully A new XL model is on the way

It's better than a truck. And not to point out the obvious but it shares nothing with an Accord. It's a Pilot with the back cut off. Honda recalls for things like faulty reverse camera. Toyota recalled recent Tacos for poorly welded rear axles. Ford recalls for their shit catching on fire. 😂
