Great review & will be great value in the used car market. I guess it won't be cheap to insure due to the lack of claims data, etc. We now the Ant & Dec of car reviews😂

Nice to see a family car at a reasonable priced fully kitted out sub 40k. The money you save on the additional cost of an EV plus £400 annual VED will buy you lots of petrol so wouldn’t be too concerned about the cost at the pump!

Personally I would stick to known brands with known dealership backups. Who knows how long it would be off the road, if something went wrong or an accident occurred?
@DefinitelyNotAGuru15 күн бұрын
They’ve had dealerships in the UK for donkey’s so there’s no drama. Insurance Group 25 tells you that supply chain is a non-issue.
@MarthaMansbridge12 күн бұрын
KGM isn’t new to the UK, they’ve sold here as Ssangyong for decades. Not too many dealers but these are South Korean - they’re reliable.

Not a bad looking car this. It does look a bit heavily designed around the rear quarters though... I'm glad Ssangyong have finally moved away from adorning their cars with lots of chrome. It made them look like Buddhist temples... Nicely designed, stylish interior.... Fuel consumption isn't quite where it ought to be to compete with the competition....

Strange engine choice when the rest of the vehicle looks well thought out ( excluding no HVAC buttons like all the new stuff ) . If you're not going to Hybrid and want 30 mpg stick a 2ltr in to cope with the size and weight.
@DefinitelyNotAGuru14 күн бұрын
A bit of mild hybrid tech would have been great - power is fine to be fair but MPG is a bit off.

Nice looking car in and out... However, that engine being the only choice doesn't seem like clever business and limiting it's audience somewhat. Will be decent as a second hand deal, but 37k with that engine...i don't see it

@DefinitelyNotAGuru15 күн бұрын

@MarthaMansbridge12 күн бұрын
No glass roof, presume no AWD given there’s one option and more than the Torres? Same awkward screen controls despite the South Korean versions having a very smart, separate HVAC control in the centre console. Makes zero sense, this is not going to compete with the flood of far better equipped Chinese cars invading our shores
@DefinitelyNotAGuru12 күн бұрын
It doesn’t need to compete with anything really as they only want low volume sales - I think the placement is to be an alternative for those who want something different. If they sell big volumes they will get caught up in ZEV mandate which they are currently able to avoid.
@MarthaMansbridge12 күн бұрын
@@DefinitelyNotAGurua fair point but I still can’t understand why this isn’t better equipped. The K40 AWD Torres is a far better bet, lower in price. The only difference in specification I can see is the Actyon has a 360 camera.
@DefinitelyNotAGuru12 күн бұрын
This is a way better car than the Torres in every way. I had 2 Torres’ for a week and did a few hundred miles in each. I’d suggest just driving both.
@MarthaMansbridge12 күн бұрын
@@DefinitelyNotAGuruhow? It’s exactly the same car, same interior, same engine, gearbox, same bonnet, wings, doors and drivetrain up to the C Pillar. What’ve they changed that makes it so different? Genuinely interested because my understanding from other reviews including from Korea is that it’s just a Torres with a different boot.
@DefinitelyNotAGuru12 күн бұрын
All you have to do is drive them and the differences are clear, one is very skittish, quite noisy, buggy etc whilst the other isn’t. Watch my Torres reviews or just go test drive them. These are physical things, not spec sheets. I drive 100+ cars per year.
