So they added RX infotainment and probably leveled up the safety system which the ES and LS both needed. But the use of the same body and chassis hints that this model doesnt sell like perhaps they expected . Camry has evolved, ES should have evolved first or parallel.

What I notice is that the previous grille is more good-looking and attractive. Maybe this is my perspective only, but I strongly believe it that way.

Why change the chassis of this masterpiece? Camry has evolved to make it feel more like the ES, but still not quite there.

@Seba-ch3yq well firstly, a new chassis would take advantage of the new hybrid system. Secondly, the technology hasn't changed much. Same since 2019. 2024 should have been a major update.

@@DaleC. I see. Perhaps it wouldn't be worth investing in a new chassis given the sales of sedans right now. But I'd take that ES anytime over an SUV.

@Seba-ch3yq hence why I originally said they were likely expecting more sales. As the potential buyer i am, a loaded 25 ES is around 58k, exact same car in a 23 is 35-39k. Loaded 25 camry xle with all options is 42k. No reason to buy the 25 ES now.

I am amazed by Lexus. the exterior is very beautiful and refined but what does that square panel in the center taken from their SUVs have to do with the interior? AESTHETICS has nothing to do with a car, and the gearbox? It's been two years since they removed the traditional automatic gear lever from SUVs with a short DIGITAL gearbox. Here for the 2025 restyling are they leaving the old gearbox? This new Lexus direction needs to be reviewed from scratch. 👎 in some European countries they have discontinued the Lexus Ct, the GS, the Is, Lc and even the flagship LS in recent years to introduce the LBX, a luxury Yaris cross. now they almost only make crossovers and SUVs. I loved Lexus but this policy 👎

Since the release of the 2018-2020 Camry, Toyota has struggled with the design and placement of its infotainment screens. In this new Lexus, the setup resembles a hastily added triangular piece of plastic with a clock, giving an impression of an afterthought. The 2021-2024 Camry upgrade didn’t fare much better, with the screen design turning into a visual disaster. Toyota didn’t even bother to conceal the ventilation cavity from the pre-update model's dash, leaving the screen looking like a low-quality aftermarket product you'd find on platforms like Temu. It might be time for Toyota to take notes from their Chinese competitors in this area.

That new infotainment screen looks so cheap - especially with the noticeable seam between the clock and the main screen unit. The screen on the outgoing model, though not perfect, looks much better than this.

@avdp9095 yes no doubt about it. It's very efficient very reliable and does it's purpose well. Where it's disappointing is in design and features. It's all the same, a mid cycle refresh and I think most of us were looking forward to a fresh restyle. If you leased an ES it's no reason to grab ahold of this model. No doubt it's a great yet boring car, it's just disappointing in the overall esthetics.

@RunEmDownTony true, but if you have a look at current new Mercedes E class and 5 series, new successors every 5 years or so.....and with far less build quality... . I preferre a longer life cycle and redesign and upgrades every 2 or 3 years for this ES. The new 5 series teceives a lot of critics in Europe because of its weight, 2200kg up to 2500kg....compare that with our ES, 1700kg..... . But most are, car journalists, disappointed in the lower quality standard, lots of hard plastics in interior etc. For the new EClass, complete dashboard is a multi media panel and spectacle....it is simply too much, and lots of complaints about build quality as well. The ES is a traditional sedan, upgraded every year with a superb interior fit and finish, very comfortable, very silent and imo outstanding build quality. For me more important. It is not a GS, will never be, but still a bery good sedan, imo, the best available despite its age. The EV version will arrive and will ne latrger than the current ES, smaller than the LS, we just have to wait another 2 years. That's oke for me. Toyota and Lexus earn billions at the moment with their hybrids and don't loose billions with Bev's like VW, Ford, Stellantis, etc.

​@@avdp9095 man I absolutely agree with you. I'm not a fan of these ridiculous huge screens that stretch across the dash, especially Mercedes. I bought the car to enjoy the drive and because it accommodates my life, not because I have a need to scroll through menus just to do some of the most simplest task. Which is now more complex to do because your adding more steps just by going through menus to get to it. And I've never been a fan of Mercedes interiors. That hard plastic material that runs down the center dash with all the creeking just has too go.

Such a lovely car in terms of reliability and performance. But such a lousy car in terms of aesthetics. We understand Lexus wants to have its own distinct style, but it should make it the better - better than BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Toyota, Honda all are lousy designers unfortunately while their car quality is so good. First time I found 2024 Prado to be the best in design. Why cant lexus have sequential turn light in ES and all their vehicles as they are its luxury segment?!! Honda Accord has Inspire in China which is much better than Accord elsewhere in the world. crazy!

That touchscreen looks absolutely awful - what's with the tacky looking seam between the clock and in the infotainment unit? Looks so cheap. And I also hate that they've removed the physical buttons for the climate controls.

Back seat still does not fold down! Where is the luxurious wood grain? Enough with the ambient interior lighting. No real climate control buttons. Overall this design has been too long in the tooth. Time for a bottom up and down new design...dated.
