I absolutely enjoy using the control dial. Mazda philosophy is a good one. The CX-30 is just right in so many ways.

Old tech is more reliable. People who text and drive will want the huge touchscreens.

I rented the CX30 and Kona back to back. If you want a huge touch screen get a Kona or Crostrek. Mazda is old school with automatic transmission and small screen. My only gripe with Mazda is the soft leatherette does not breathe. Your back will sweat in the summer more than cloth seats.

Excellent organization and review. These cars sweat the details on design and build. Skip the sunroof option 😮package and consider the extra room of the "step up" CX-50..Most of us will never need more!

Excellent review and POV drive. Mazda's are very good, well designed, however need to update the screen, dump that Rotary dial. Absolutely hate that.

Thanks Dave. I agree, but Mazda has been very resistant to that citing distracted driving issues with touchscreens.

Owned a Mazda CX 3 & Mazda 3v sedan. Found your looking at screen, while 6our fumbling with that dial. Personally I found them both very distracting while driving.

I just can’t get over how terrible and almost useless the design of the touch screen is.
