I really like this vehicle, but the side cladding is, in my opinion, is over-the-top ugly. Same thing with the CX30. I also wish Mazda had gone with the latest hybrid system, like the one found in the 2024 Toyota Camry, rather than the older system, like the one found in the 2024 Rav4.

Save the spare tires! (Points to Mazda. Raspberries to Honda). It will be interesting to see what Toyota does to the next gen RAV4 interior. Even the XLE 2024 RAV4 felt a bit like it belonged in a rental car fleet. Is this the Gen 4 or Gen 5 hybrid system? Sounds like it is Gen 4. (Maybe the new RAV4 will get the Gen 5. 232 HP). I was looking at SUV's and decided this was a bad time to buy (the Mazda hybrid was not available) a SUV as most of them in my crosshairs were at the end of model run. Given I keep my cars about a decade, I decided to wait. Bought the '25 Camry instead and kept the old SUV, which is now retired from commuter duty (except deep snow days) , plus occasional light towing, and carrying large cargo. Seems like a good mix on this Mazda - hope the handling stays close to the old CX-50 (factoring in the raised height for the battery). Can't help but think that Toyota has an ace up their sleeve if they let Mazda have this tech, when they seem to be selling all the RAV 4's they can build. Thanks for the review.
@seanh239010 күн бұрын
pretty sure it is the gen 4 system

The hybrid battery has raised the car 1.5” so what does Mazda do? They make the already hideous wheel arches and plastic along the bottom even thicker. It looked hideous before it’s even more so now. And in a few years when that plastic starts to fade and warp and you are desperately trying to find products to make it look new for more than a couple of weeks you will realize what a mistake it was in purchasing this vehicle.

4:03 - I don't know why Mazda insists on placing the screen so far off, and in that indentation in the dash. It just looks ridiculous. Nothing, NOTHING, was wrong with that setup before, but, yuh know, they decided to "fix" it. It's just like that stupid piano black everywhere that nobody asked for.
