Hallelujah, a hybrid with a spare tire! I'm very interested in this CX-50 hybrid. I have a deposit on a Rav4 XSE hybrid but its been 3 months and I'm still waiting for it to come in. The Mazda is between $2 or $3k less expensive than the Rav4, but it's lacking 3 features that the Rav4 has...digital rearview mirror, 360 degree view camera, and a large 12" digital gauge cluster. There may be other significant differences, I'm still comparing the two. One nice thing about the Mazda hybrid is that it's on the dealer lots now, ready to take home.

This would have been a definite buy for me (I test drove the turbo premium plus and the hybrid). I wanted the fuel efficiency as my mom has a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid. The only reason why I haven't bought anything is the fact that i was hoping that the trim packages would have been the same as the turbo. I went super in depth with my own research and so on - basically the Hybrid premium plus is about the same as the Premium package on the turbo - minus some features. The biggest negative for me is the fact that the US market does not get a heated steering wheel at all....but the Canada market does.... and all the cars to my knowledge are made in Alabama...so unless Mazda had to give things up because of this Toyota/Mazda collab... this makes no sense. I still want a CX-50 but its a battle for me between buying a slightly used CX-50 Premium Plus (for around $37k). Or buy a brand new CX-50 Hybrid for the bigger fuel saving (compared to my current car), less maintenance etc for $41k+.

My guess is that the heated steering wheel will come out - they probably just ran out of time to get it on market. I have the hybrid and the location of the heat vents are immediately in front of the steering wheel to the left & right and therefore work pretty well keeping my hands warm while driving!

Since Masda USA has left out a number of creature conforts as well as saftety options for the USA such as cross trafic warnings, I'm now waiting to see what the soon to come Subaru Forester Hybrid includes for their similar trim model.

It’s so nice but why is the 2nd row built for no one taller than 5’7?

The battery sits under the rear sit and raises it somewhat.

Mazda dropped the ball by not including their 2025 CTS lane centering on the hybrid, not even the top trim. I was so excited for the past year and just assumed it would at least be on the top trim.

Enjoy the videos, but the extra cladding is the sole reason I’ll be passing on this one. Love the Toyota hybrid power train, and they finally nailed the wheel size (17 and 20 inches on the gas models were both too extreme with either too much or too little rubber). Why oh why did they have to add more cladding-it was already too much, and now it consumes the lower half of the profile. Only the black or metallic gray paint is even an option to hide all that matte plastic. Otherwise this update would have corrected all the shortcomings of the gas model imo.

No parking sensors--- no heated steering wheel, no surround view camera,-- all which are on the Canadian version.

Wrong, exterior isn't the same, it's been raised and more cladding around the wheel wells has been added to camouflage the change. Mazda needed to raise the body to accommodate the new hybrid powertrain. Please do your research if you are calling yourself an expert resource.
@BostonAutoBlog13 күн бұрын
Hmmm lets see. I said that Mazda raised the CX-50 Hybrid to accommodate the battery so you're exposing yourself here by not watching the entire video. The beefed up cladding is hardly noteworthy btw. Park a regular CX-50 next to a hybrid and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference without someone pointing it out. Please watch the entire video before accusing someone of claiming they're "an expert resource" when in fact they've never made that claim to begin with nor is it stated in any section on this channel.
