Pretty sure pop up lights are illegal to make these days, the last car with pop up lights was made in 2004. a 240sx would need regular lights, improved safety (meaning a change in exterior design, and weight increase), and improved emissions (less reliable engine), before it can be produced again.

We can thank the government for that. They made it so you had to make the vehicle larger to put it in a different emissions bracket. EPA formula has completely backfired, now everyone drives larger less economic vehicles. Not to mention the additional weight eats up tires and roadways faster.

I waited & hoped the "Vision" concept car would get built. Do not make it an EV! 3 litre, 6 cyl. Turbo would be just right.

The tailights should be epitrochoid plus a rear diffuser mounted rotary shaped F1 style LED that pulses differently at different speed and braking intensity. The tailights on that prototype look too much like indented lotus tailights with an an ellipse to obfuscate them. I like the pop-up headlights but I think they should be more traditional size and utilize a lens and halogen configuration (warm daylight color light). LED headlights are silly, annoying, and dangerous. Make a simple switch to disarm airbags on either side. Front wheel drive EV power when in stop and go traffic, but when you floor it, rear rotary power kicks in. When throttle is neutral, EV resumes but rotary stays on to recharge battery. Since EV motor is in front you could also utilize regenerative braking for decelleration. Also, since there is already a large battery, an electric supercharger could augment the rotary engine power and efficiency for "spirited" driving. (edit: maybe use peltier plates to cool the oil/engine plus generate electricty.)

Rotary or conventional ICE or electric so long as it has 500+HP I am on board. I suspect those clamoring against electric have never driven a Tesla S Ludicris or an Audi E-tron or almost any other electric. The instant torque and jet acceleration of these cars is exhilarating. No you don’t get the sound of an ICE but to me that is small trade-off. I suspect this is just a show car and not for manufacture but if they do it would be wonderful to see them on the road. One more thing will you please dispense with all the distracting and annoying video effects. This video would be 100% better without them.

MAZDA I own 7 rotary powered cars , but I'm not interested in a Genset sports car . Like many enthusiastic owners n collectors we want quad rotary s , options of hydrogen, AWD and look at the Australian and New Zealand billet motors . And cars we can work on ourselves. I hate my rx8 s not user friendly , my wife just wants our old series 1 rx7 13b turbo(151rwkw) daily driver . Me an fc3s or an old RX2 coupe. Say no to Genset cars I will build a locost7 RX if Mazda will not build what I want
