Enforcer is basically an extremely stable crud cutter, which gives you a lot of confidence
@SkiEssentials

They still do that for sure, but are adding in some zip and pep to their step as well! Considerably more versatile and energetic than ever before but still with a dual-metal laminate style of confidence in crud.

Definitely try it. It may not completely take over where the 100 left off as one of the most damp, powerful, and stable skis out there, but I sure like the new ski's agility and playfulness without really any drop in carving performance.

That’s a bummer to me that they flattened the tail out especially on the 104. The amount of swivelness plus the power you got with those older models was insane. Hopefully it will be a similar feel with releasing each turn. Great vid thanks

I don't think 104 skiers are going to be disappointed. It's going to be about as swively, mainly because the whole thing is a bit flatter rather than more bowed out. They still turn spectacularly.

Really interesting... I've owned most of the old Enforcer line and the 110 (186) was one of my favorite skis of all time as a 1 ski quiver in Colorado. I always grabbed it over the old E 100. The only place I really wanted something different was long periods of no snow. This season my 110s were skied out, no camber left, and I was going for a quiver, so got on the Rossi BO 118 and it is just spectacular in soft snow. I thought I would never break up with the 110s, but wow, the BO 118 is all smiles. The old Enforcer 94 has become my 'everything else' ski, I really like the strong tail and how smooth yet tenacious it is in hard snow, so I'm not necessarily exited about more tail rocker in the 94. However I spent many days on the old E 104 free in a 186 and 177 and never got along with it. It felt like too much rocker for how directional it wanted to be and so I'm really excited about the new 104 as a possible middle ski in my quiver. (That or the Mantra 102.) How would you compare the new E 104 to the Mantra 102?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 8 ай бұрын
I still think the Mantra 102 is one of the most sturdy and powerful skis out there. The 104 is in the same conversation, but it's not quite as chargy as the Volkl. That said, if I had to ski one of them all the time, I'd take the more playful 104 unless I knew I was spending most/all of my time on groomers.

@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
We'll be able to get deeper into this later this season, but for now, I (bob) have found that the Anomaly is considerably more leaning to the all-mountain and versatile side of the spectrum than the Enforcer 89, which still feels like a true tip to tail carver. The rocker addition in the Anomaly is more pronounced, and this is a very good thing for those that like to ski bumps, trees, and softer snow. I have also found that the Anomaly is very fun and interesting on groomers and firm snow, but it's not quite as grippy or carvy as the Enforcer 89. Anomaly certainly carves, don't get me wrong, but it seems more of a highlight of the Enforcer's character for 2025. All of this being said, I really enjoyed my time on the Anomaly and it fits my style of skiing slightly better than the Nordica. I get more confused when it comes to the 94's!

Just got a pair of 99's and love them, much quicker than the 100 which I thought was a dead ski. Very good in moguls, much easier to release the tails now. While it does rip big GS turns, I almost think I could ski a slalom course on these. Didn't get on pure ice but some very hard, firm frozen terrain and they hold pretty much as well as my Brahma's without being locked into the turn. Lots of discussion on size, I don't think these ski long. Im 6'1 200lbs and got the 185. I haven't tried the 179 so I cant say much but not once did I feel I should be on a shorter length. I guess it depends where you ski but here at Lake Louise and Sunshine this is the perfect length for me.

Had the pleasure of skiing on the 89.....easy to initiate, phenomenal edge grip, strong tail relieved with the rocker makes it feel easy to manipulate, I really really like this ski, torsionally stiff, holds on boilerplate ice and bumps on Outer Limits like a dream. Very confidence inspiring strong ski, versatile, great all mtn ski, can ski this in one size down and it will handle speed. I love this ski. The women's Santa Ana would be a good choice for moguls because it's softer.

Hey guys... fantastic summary ( as always)... how does this "new" 94 compare with the Serpo?... thx!!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
I like this comparison! Serpo has more pop still, a slightly quicker edge to edge character that makes it feel like one of the more lively mid-90's skis out there. It doesn't have the same tip to tail consistency as the Enforcer, and now with the added tail rocker and the more forward mount point, the Enforcer 94 is more playful now, and a bit more versatile when it comes to trees and powder than the Serpo.

Having an enforcer 94 I can attest for all the good (glued to snow, plow tru anything its incredible) and the bad (cant be skied at low speed and low edge angle) wich means its not fun for a day I'd like to ski 70% moguls... those days I kinda prefer some racing skis (like if there it hasnt snowed in a few days I find more versatility in racing skis)... wich kinda kill the purpose of having an all mountain ski in my quiver. So I'm looking forward to try those new ones. Yet I might still go for something else like I really enjoyed the Declivity or the Sender (wish I tried those before I bought my Enforcer).

Great overview of the updated Enforcer range. I currently run the 186 Enforcer 100 and was planning to replace it with the 104 Free, to get some relief and an upgrade in manoeuvrability and soft snow performance. Given the changes it looks to be still a good choice, but any comments on comparing the new 104 with the new Rustler 10 in terms of soft snow performance and playfulness?

In terms of soft snow, the Rustler is a bit easier to manage and maneuver, but that's really the only benefit. The new Enforcer feels very much the same when it comes to faster and more aggressive skiing. On groomers and in carved turns, the Nordica is exceptional.

104 FR was my favorite Enforcer of rhe current generation. I skied the new 99, 94 and 89 today at Loon. From my perspective your analysis is spot on. I really enjoyed the 99. Still very strong but a bit more versatile than the 100. Also skied the Anomoly's. Again. I agree that the changes from the current generation to the Anomoly's is more significant than the changes in the Enforcers. the Anomoly 94 was excellent.

graham, when you say 'current generation' - do you mean the new 2025s? I currently ski the 104 FR (2024), but note it does struggle at slower speeds when slowing for the family. This is a new direction in ski reviews that I am enjoying so far. I must say that I'm not a big fan of defense when talking skis--unless you're talking about a ball-hawking cornerback or a blitzing OLB--in that case, I can see the defensive analogy. But a prevent defense, I don't think that has a good ski equivalent.

Thanks - another amazing video! Currently ski'n the 104 Free (179) out West in CO (Intermediate-Advanced) and loving my first year on them. Ironically, where I am having some trouble is at slower speeds when I'm hanging back with the family, so love the idea of better response at lower speeds when needed with the new models. I'm mainly skiing groomers and don't venture off piste too often. Being a taller guy (6'4" - 200 lbs), would you upgrade to the newer 104s or try the 94s given I'm mainly on western groomers? Also - stick w/ the 179 length or venture up?

Bob and Jeff, nice video as always! One question, I think about new 104 vs qst 106 vs new paragon 107. Which one is better for use case for Alta and PNW? How about the carving and technical terrains between those two? Thank you!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 7 ай бұрын
I think the QST 106 is more useful overall, but it's an interesting discussion. I find the Paragon and the Enforcer to be quite a bit sturdier and, with the 104's more directional shape, more linear and fall-line oriented. The QST is the best floater while the other two are significantly stronger carvers. For trees, tighter spaces, and more technical zones, the more mobile QST makes good sense.

Thanks for all the great content! What would you recommend between this new 104, an atris or the current 104 free? I’ve been skiing the 2nd edition enforcer 100 but find it takes a bit too much work when we’re out the entire family and not going very fast with the kids. My only other pair is the 1st edition disruption mti, which also isn’t the best with the kids when having to chase them among the trees. I was hoping to replace my current enforcers with another pair keeping my “quiver” to just two skiis.

Atris makes good sense here as it's a more playful version of the Enforcer 104's (either version). It is smooth and drifty for sure, and it makes a lot of sense when you encounter variable snow conditions and terrain. The Enforcers are still on the heavy side, but I do love that new 104!

If I was looking for a more hard snow oriented ski, would these new enforcers (94 or 99) provide that without feeling drastically different overall? The funny answer is that both widths will accomplish that goal. It's also funny because when I'm on the 94, that's the one I like the most, and when I'm on the 99, I like that one better. For how well the 99 carves, and with the additional tail rocker, I think that's your ultimate answer for being a more directional version of the Unleashed 98, but it's a darn fun conversation.

@SkiEssentials 6 ай бұрын
Thanks! You've got three great options here in the mid-90's zone. The Sender is the lighter and more versatile option on your list--it's the easiest to turn and the happiest at mid-range speeds and turn styles. The other two is where you see more power and stability factor in. The Maverick does it with a lighter weight, but it just does not have the same stability as the slightly heavier Enforcer 94. The new Enforcer 94 is one of the most impressive skis I've been on for all-mountain/on-piste skiing and it absolutely crushes spring snow. Personally, I've had the most success on the Enforcer in this group, especially over the Maverick (since they share more similar applications and intentions). The Sender, again, is the outlier here as it is easier to turn and more manageable in softer snow if you're not that aggressive.

Looking at adding a pair of 89’s to my quiver but can’t decide on length. I’m 6’3 and 220 lbs currently skiing Dobermann GSR RB FDT 2019 model in 180 length as my dedicated frontside groomer ski and Enforcer 104 Free in 191 as my offpiste / all mountain ski. The 89 would be my spring / slush / soft spring crud ski with main focus on frontside. I’m leaning towards the 179 to get a bit more playfullness out of the ski. However my main concern is edge grip/hold. With both other pairs I have the length I’m skiing is spot on. I’m a fairly strong/ aggressive skier. Tried some Bent Chetler 100’s in 188 a couple of years back and pushed right trough them. Even in softer snow I had to tune back my aggressiveness a lot to prevent the ski’s from chattering. Will the 179 hold up even in firmer/ icier early morning spring conditions or do I need the 185’s to get that extra bit of hold?

I'm 6/2 225 and i would go with the 185 in this ski. I think the Enforcer 94 and above, I like the 179, but the smaller surface area works pretty well in the longer length, especially if you're pretty strong and aggressive. this way, you won't wonder if you left performance on the table.

In contrast, I never liked the traditional Enforcer series having owned (and sold) and E88 and demod the E100. My question to you is what ski is now closest to the soon to be retired E104Free? All of the skis are a lot more like the 104free than ever. I've found that the new 99 can be driven and then released from the tail in a pretty similar manner to the 104free. That said if you like the 104 width it's still available, and the new one feels quite similar in soft snow and even smoother and more powerful than the free version as the snow gets firmer.

I'll echo Brooks, here. The new 104 is still very close to the 2024 104 Free. We loved it in firm snow, but there's no real loss of soft snow performance. The new shape is less bowed-out and flatter overall. You could argue that this makes the new one more playful as there's less shape to contend with.

Hey skiessentials, I currently ski a 186 104 free, and while I love them when I’m in conditions where I can carve a turn, I find them pretty unwieldy in anything else because of the weight/length (especially at slower speeds). I thought that a 179 in that ski would be better fit, but I feel conflicted on the 2025 changes - while the tapering of the metal seems like a welcome change to swing weight, I’m worried that the reduced rocker profile would make the 179 “ski longer” than the old shape. Do you think the 2025 104 in a 179 would be a better fit for me, or would you recommend an entirely different ski? For context I’m a 5’8” 170lb ex racer skiing in the PNW. Thanks!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 9 ай бұрын
It sounds like you're fighting a ghost with these Enforcer skis--I may advise to look elsewhere, ultimately. The new ski, in my experience, is just a better overall product. The flatter shape works better in that it allows for easier pivoting, and the more central mount point helps make this new 104 carve more readily. That said, if you're still struggling and up in the air, looking for an early 100's high performance ski, that mixes carve and float, I'd check out the Armada Declivity 102, Black Crows Justis, or Rossignol Sender 104. I also think the 179 will be a better fit for your stats and application.

Early 30s, 5'11", 210 lbs, pretty athletic, live in (and grew up skiing around) Colorado and just got back into skiing last season. I've had a lot of success and happiness on the new 94. The 89 is great, but the 94 seems like a pretty special ski to me. There's a bit more tail rocker and the extra width that makes it slightly more versatile--it just feels like the 94 can do it all. Even if you're looking for an on-piste bias, I think the 94 will answer that call. 179 might be on the long side.

Anomaly 102 vs Enforcer 99, which is more suited for crud charging in open bowls (Colorado)? And which is 'looser, quicker' for tighter bumps, techy steeps and trees? I currently ski the 184cm Mantra M6 and love its precision, ease and predictability in every application, the only tiny negative is I wouldn't describe it as 'fun'.

The Anomaly feels looser and more slashy than the Enforcer 99. I'd rather ski that one in the open bowls and off-piste realm. That said, it's not near the carver that the Enforcer is these days.

Most skiers will find success in the same length as before. That said, we've been having a lot of fun on shorter Enforcers--if you ever felt caught in the middle, I'd at least recommend trying the shorter size if possible. If you are looking for power and stability, the Enforcer is the way to go, regardless of size. I do think the K2 has better pep and zest to it, so it kind of depends what type of performance you're looking for. Additionally, the K2 is more amenable to off-piste skiing, so if that's going to be 30% of your time, and you don't want something terribly demanding, the K2 is a better choice.

I’m only 5’3” 160lbs, but have powerful legs and a technically very good skier. Would I be correct in assuming the Enforcer 88/89 in a 170ish length be suitable for me? Something that's nonetheless way under 100m, as it should still lend itself well for on piste. I'm intrigued by the Enforcer 94 is it sounds like it can be driven quite hard. I know from you guys that the swing weight is less and the metal shape has been refined. Will I really notice a difference enough to buy new ones? Also, my 100's do float in powder (that's why I got them), but would 104's be better for me? I mean, I go out west a couple weeks a season; how often do I really get pow deep enough to float in?

The difference between the 100 and the 99 is pretty stark. I think the 99 is a much cleaner turner and carver with more energy and pop than the 100. It's not quite as tank-like through the crud and chop, but it's still pretty darn good. BUT! A move to the 104 almost sounds warranted for you as you're looking for a soft snow focused ski. From our recent experience on the new 104, we're most impressed with its turning capabilities, but by adding a flatter profile, this ski is going to slice through the snow and it's going to be driftier and surfier as a result.

I purchased the Enforcer 100 after one run. I was just about to pull the trigger on the Bonafides and thought the Enforcer was just about as responsive a charger but with a more playful and soft snow bias. This was 2016. I couldn’t believe how versatile it was…great carver…responsive in the bumps, and floatation…even in my deep 2’+ powder runs at Snowbird….it was at the time the closest to a “one quiver” ski that I could recall. I ended up buying the same ski w/different graphics in ‘20…because if it ain’t broken don’t replace it. I haven’t yet tried the newer version that replaced it…and now this new 99 underfoot. I need to test them. I had tried the 104…(the first one) and didn’t like it’s responsiveness as much as the 100….but perhaps the newer 104 is the one. I need to test them!

The movement of the camber and mount point forward in the 99 makes a pretty substantial difference in the carving capabilities, and I'm a huge fan. The Enforcer is a better turner on trail. I think the Optic may be more useful in tighter and more technical zones with the slower speed responsiveness, but the new 104 is an amazing carver and it absolutely still plows through crud and chop with the best of them. The Santa Ana follows suit with the 104 as it has the same shape but with less metal, making it a bit more amenable to ease of use and a lighter weight feel. The 99 shares the build with the 104, but has more tail rocker than the K2. This helps with slower speed compliance but still rips. The K2 still wants to go straighter and faster than any new Enforcer/Santa Ana.

I wouldn't hold your breath on new Unlimiteds...our understanding is that those models will not continue in the North American market. That said, we still have a bunch for sale! Also, we've found that the new Enforcers feel lighter, even if the scale doesn't indicate so. The rocker and the forward mount point make it feel more swively than before.

Hi. New Enforcer 94 vs Rossi sender 94ti? Thanks nick.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 3 ай бұрын
In terms of overall power and performance, it's Enforcer by a mile. For a bit more pep and zip in the tails, the Sender does great. I just don't feel that the Rossignol has nearly the same oomph as the Enforcer, especially when it comes to consistent and relatively aggressive skiing.

Really disappointed that there's no 191 cm version this year of the Enforcer 94, was looking to getting my first own all-mountain skis after a long pondering, and really need (or prefer) a longer pair as I am 206 cm (6'9") myself. Mostly skiing on-piste with variable conditions in Europe during late winter/early springtime, and prefer a wider pair of skis, but not all the way to the freeride-type skis. Sadly have to start inspecting other options again.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, you're certainly big enough to warrant the 191, but not a lot of others are, so it's more of a financial decision for Nordica for that length. I'd say the 99 in the 191 is worth a look!

Can you talk about how this affected the turn radius? It sure looks like it is longer on all of the skis..
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
Amazingly, the new skis are about .5 meters longer on average, but they feel turnier. I think this is mainly due to the more forward mount point and the camber brought more into the middle of the ski. They turn rounder.

How are they compared to the new blizzard anomaly especially in carving mode?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
The 94's seem like a good place to make the most direct comparison, so I'll start there. It's a different carving feel. The Anomaly feels like it has a higher speed limit and yearns for that speed in order to create a dynamic carved turn. The Enforcer, amazingly, has better mid-range compliance and makes amazingly round turns at a variety of speeds. That said, it didn't feel quite as comfortable at the top end of the speedometer while the Anomaly was slightly more composed. Off-trail, and in bumps and trees, I'm really impressed with them both. The shovel of the Anomaly seems more interested in floating and flexing while the Enforcer feels more precise and amenable to starting a turn quicker--I think the more forward mount of the Enforcer has an effect here.

From watching the video, the new 99 now seems to make the new 104 redundant and unnecessary?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
It depends on what you like, how you ski, and where you ski. While I could certainly make the argument for myself that the 99 is the ideal Stowe ski for me, I wouldn't say such a thing about the new 104. This means that someone else, somewhere, feels the exact opposite of me and couldn't fathom having the 99 over the 104.

94’s or 99’s for a New England skier?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 8 ай бұрын
Yes! They're both wonderful. I think the new 99 with the added tail rocker moves the needle more to a NE skier, but the 94 is still a crisper carver with better grip. I feel that most skiers here in New England would be better served on the 99, but that does not even remotely mean the 99 is a bad choice.

Hi Guys. What can you say about the differences between 88, and 89.?
@SkiEssentials

The new 89 is more eager to carve a clean and round turn. You had to drive the 88 to get the same results, the new ski is a lot easier to get the top end of the performance here.

Kendo 88 vs Enforcer 89 Frontside usage for a 230lbs skier?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
I think the Enforcer makes rounder and easier turns while the Kendo is more precise and reactive. There's more rocker in the Enforcer, and even more now, and while that adds to the overall versatility, it does take away some power in a carved turn.

Take this for what it's worth - When you are introducing a new line of updated skis like this with four new skis and their predecessors are all on the wall, it can get very confusing about which waist-width ski you're talking about. Think about your audience. They're feeding their kids dinner and trying to follow along. If you preface more of your commentary and constantly remind them specifically which ski you are talking about on an ongoing basis, then it will be much easier to follow along. One other thing. This might be heresy to the younger generation, but saying that a ski is "awesome" tells your potential customer nothing about the product
