Glad to have Belmo put Randy in his place regarding urethane. Randy has always hated on urethane balls, but Belmo knows the truth of things in the modern game. That truth was perfectly demonstrated by Fach today.

I agree. I'm not a 2 hander but appreciate all Belmo has done for the sport. Without his contributions bowling would be dead by now. When he is available he should be the main commentator. Pedersen's dislike of urethane is ridiculous considering he was a pro before resin cover balls were the norm and you threw plain urethane and plastic.

@@RewindCountry I started back a couple years ago after over 20 years off. My opinion of why the old guys hate urethane is that they don't have the rev rate to throw it. There was much less oil put on the lanes in the 80s and 90s when urethane was dominant. Those guys have to throw reactive now to get any back end reaction. I bowled a 50 and over senior tournament (not pba) and had a 30+ year PBA member complaining about me throwing urethane. I quit bowling them and go bowl tournaments that are putting out 2:1 sport patterns against the youngsters.

I was hoping that shouty man was going to get better this season.. Only having Belmo there was what made this somewhat tolerable. Fanta just doesn't know the game at all. Gonna be a long season with him back. Randy is only as good as who sits next to him. Yes, Belmo definitely improved things.

@ripvanrevs well butters struggles with Urethane sometimes too.. but I'd love to see him diversify his game. Usually people that can only throw Urethane really struggle with pinpoint accuracy and control. They also struggle to read the lane. That is because reactive on these patterns is very tough to Guage but it is high risk/reward as Tackett has shown. When Tackett is bad, he is really bad, but when he is on, he is unbeatable

They get less time to figure out the lanes, they only get a few practice shots and then they only have 1 match to throw 10 really good shots or hopefully 11 or 12. The other competitors have more time to figure out the lanes with bowling more games on them. That’d be what I have to say on the matter

In my opinion, while I love Randy Peterson, I have Truly have a suspicion that in the long run, maybe a few years from now.. . That Belmo needs to be the heir apparent to Randy Peterson to be ultimate color analyst for the PBA tour . He understands the one handers and is supreme for 2 handers..but I'm still hearing overall analysis... I'm sorry Randy, but maybe you can eek out the current commentators So Randy is Chris Shenkel and Belmo is bo Burton
