I loved The Lost Bookshop 🎉

I have't read it yet, but I've only heard good things. I think there's a second book too... I keep thinking I saw one with a similar cover. I don't know if they are connected, but I want that one too! 🪼

Thank you so much! 🩵 I'm so glad to hear it, I wasn't the biggest fan of The Starless Sea (although to be fair I listened on audiobook), so I'm a little nervous about this one! 🪼

I love the b/w covers to color cover idea. I haven’t seen that before!

Haha, that only happened because I can be a flake and forget what I've planned on doing! I'm glad you liked it! 🪼

Haha, its faux-ligraphy! I cannot seem to relax enough to do the real thing, but this works for me. Thank you! 🪼

Hahahha your daughter did a great job! I noticed how your nails matched and then you started talking about them. I have a random page at the start of my journal too and I was considering a pocket for bookmarks but the library card is even better. Final walkthrough is just gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing you fill it through out the year. I tracked what I purchased this year…it was scary, next year I hope to do better. Your January looks fun!

Your nails look great! They're neat, clean, and neutral, so they do not distract from what you're doing in the video. I have a very strong dislike for long, overly decorated nails in videos. They're a huge distraction, and most "content creators" struggle to do basic things like peeling stickers with nails like this. Additionally, natural nails that are unkempt (dry cracked cuticles, unevenly cut, etc.) are equally distracting. Kudos to your daughter for getting you to try something new.

I could not agree more with this observation. Neat, clean, and neutral nails clearly display more professionalism and it made the viewing experience much better. And the fact that they were done by her daughter? Fabulous work. 😊

I totally agree, I'm glad they didn't distract from the journal! 🪼

So, so gorgeous. The way you set everything up is just perfection. Such a random question, but how do you film these? Like do you have a camera set up on a tripod? Do you use your phone? I've always been curious HOW these are filmed.
@thejellyfishjournalsАй бұрын
Thank you so much! 🩵 I found this ring light thingy that clamps onto stuff, and it has an attachment above it to hold your phone. So I put my phone on it, line it up, then hit record! The part that’s hard for me is remembering to do everything on camera - I usually pull things closer to my lap to cut/glue, etc. 🪼

@@thejellyfishjournals Thank you so much for replying! Sorry for the delayed response; I was away for Thanksgiving. But that is really awesome. If I ever get the nerve to start a journaling channel, you'll be at the top of my inspiration list! Thank you!

I may have missed it in one of your other videos...but do you know where you purchased the vellum paper that you used? I remember one of the pages was your tropes. Love your set-up btw!❤️
@thejellyfishjournals8 күн бұрын
Yes! The vellum paper (the one with the leaves, I'm thinking you mean) was at Hobby Lobby. It's so pretty! And thank you so much! 🪼
