currently owning a slalom ski which as last year showed me wasnt the best of fun in a lot of new snow... i would rate myself upper intermediate. 85 kg. i am in the market for a more carving allmounting ski which could also do crud. up till now i am looking at this one, atomic q7 or q7.9 or deacon 80.. somehow the penedrine does not tick my boxes. we dont ski a lot.. one or two weeks a year.. so i would like a easy ski. which does bring some performance in the carving area.. as that is when i have the most fun most i have while skiing. any advice?

Nice review. Currently ski on some dated skis, either 172cm Blizzard Magnum 8.0 CA or 177 Head Rev 90, but mostly the Magnums (find them way more fun). I find I can coax the Mags into some rapid fire short radius turns (at the expense of my quads) but in the crud or higher speeds they become more work than reward. I would love to turn up the speed on the Magnums. I am in my 60s and consider myself an advanced skier at 5'10" 175lbs. The Forza 70 look like a solid choice but the only question is size. I can see the 166 being a bit better in the bumps but crud, ice, and speed stability tell me 173. Any thoughts?

I recommend skiing the 70 shorter, but that's just my opinion. I'm 6/2 225 and liked the 173 far more than the 181, I just felt that this ski deserved to be used in a shorter turn format. The 60, for me, in the 171, felt too short, as I'd likely take that one in the 179.

Thanks for the review! How do these compare to: 1. Latest Rossignol MT version 2. Black Crows Octo I am looking for a daily driver, usually skying 75% on piste 25% off piste.
@SkiEssentials19 күн бұрын
The Octo is the most flexible of the skis here while the MT and the Forza are similarly built. The Forza is a shorter turner than the MT, and I find it excels in mid-range carves but I'm also surprised at the ski's versatility in softer snow. For a daily, I do think the Octo has a lot of potential given your 75/25 split.

Hello thanks for the review. I am looking for a new second pair of skies. I currently have the faction prodigy 2 from 2023 but that is more to the side of a freestyle, freeride, off-piste ski. And i am looking for a ski that suits more with carving and has more comfort at higher speeds. Do you think this ski will fit for me? I am 185cm and 78 kg. Or do you have any other recommendations? I also think to go for size 173 then?
@SkiEssentials4 күн бұрын
We love the Forza 70 and its ability to carve very clean short and medium radius turns. It's comfortable at speeds in those carves for sure, and I'd go 173 here. Comparable skis include Head Supershape Rally, Nordica Spitfire 80, and Volkl Peregrine 80.

Great thanks for your reaction and your options! I will go for the Forza 70 then with a 173 length.👌🏻

Great review, what size would you recommend for me. I'm 178cm, but only 65kg. Currently I am skiing head supershape i-titan 170cm. I really can't decide the size of Rossignol Forza 70 ...
@SkiEssentialsАй бұрын
Probably 173, but 166 is not out of the question especially if you prefer shorter turns.

Thanks Bob, sounds like a great ski. Do you prefer Forza 70 or Supershape e-Magnum?
@SkiEssentials2 ай бұрын
I prefer the Forza. I like the lighter feel and I found a surprising amount of versatility with the Rossignol that I didn't quite find with the Magnum.

@@SkiEssentials Do you think someone who enjoys skiing on the Supershape Magnum will also feel comfortable on the Forza 70? Thanks in advance-amazing review!
@SkiEssentials2 ай бұрын
@@zeciorqzeciorq4309 The weight and stability are different. Some prefer lighter and more mobile, others like the sturdiness of the Magnum.

I am 184cm tall and weigh around 80-85kg what length would you recommend, as my all mountain skis are 184cm in length however when I'm doing training I ski on a 160cm slalom ski
@SkiEssentialsАй бұрын
I'm taller than you and I really liked the 173 in this ski. I tried the 181 and found that it just wasn't as engaging, fun, or versatile as the shorter one. The ski seems short, but I don't care, I liked it more.

Hi, Great review, what size would you recommend for me. I'm 171cm, 88kg, athletic and have a rather muscular build. I'm an advanced skier. Thank you

How does it compare with Thunderbird R15 WB?
@SkiEssentials24 күн бұрын
They both have similar limits and ceilings, but the Thunderbird feels more planted and solid while the Forza feels more energetic, peppy, and poppy.

@ Thanks! I think I am leaning towards the thunderbird now. Can you recommend a length for upper intermediate skier, 5’10, 155lbs? Is 166 or 174 more appropriate?
@SkiEssentials23 күн бұрын
@@kringsman00 I'd say 166 is more appropriate, especially if you want to hook into shorter turns and carves.

At 78 mm it looks like the successor to the defunct Hero Elite MT Plus TI…
@SkiEssentials2 ай бұрын
It's actually closer to the defunct React 10 Ti, but yes, you are still correct in terms of application and style.
@wisecoonie2 ай бұрын
@ Interesting. The React 10ti never got much attention, the 6 and especially the 8 were more tested. Peculiar as the 10ti was the flagship model in the range. Anyway, that very wide tip on the F70 looks like it wants to catch on in messy snow, but it doesn’t? Btw very happy with the 60, it’s the perfect companion to the casual holiday skiers like me. Easy and accompanies your evolution without requiring big technique or engagement. I’d have liked a comparison between the 60 and 70 tbh. Would’ve been great.
