The goal this year is to teach the world about who we are as artists and not just focus on the music. I appreciate you

This was a very informative video. It helped me to see that a lot of things I’ve already started doing was in line with what you’re saying. I started my channel many years ago, but I didn’t start taking it seriously until recently and since I started taking it seriously I’ve actually been doing practically all of the things you’re saying in this video Without realizing I was already doing it and I’ll say it does work. It takes effort, but it does work. The growth of my channel has been exponential over the last six months and I’m not far off from being monetized now because what I’m saying in my videos is resonating with the audience I found.

Most artists aren't talented enough to be mysterious. However, you CAN be mysterious! I discovered MF DOOM back in 2003 in a record store. I knew very little about him before buying his DOOMSDAY album... and very little afterward. However, i continued to buy his music because it was 🔥 You don't have to do videos or be on social media (personally) to win an audience. You're actually losing fans when you do that (talented or not). If you are TRULY talented, you can take the old AND new routes to promote your music... and trust me, they WILL come! People love mystery...

Just found your show. I like what you're saying. I just started making music in February, and posting on KZbin by March of 2024. I'm currently using KZbin and SoundCloud. Never heard of Bandcamp or (Even?), but I will check them out. I can't sing or play an instrument, but I write all the lyrics, make all the music, sing all the vocals (not very good 😂), and I have created different characters using AI to alter my voice to create an overarching story with my music. My artist name is spelled "dQb".

@@kojoefante you don't have to be a "musician" to write good music. Look at Berry Gordy. Although, I say hats off to anyone who can master their instrument. For instance, someone like Prince, would completely agree with you. I just don't have the lifetime to spare. But I have many ideas. But Prince never had a job. His life was playing.

Go back and look up how many interviews David Bowie has on file. You'll find that he wasn't that mysterious and that's why we know so much about him.

Regarding finding the group how exactly do you go about that?..is it by going to pages that relate with your type of music or how exactly do you by what you said?

Should I continue to release music through distributions like distrokid & united masters or stop and strictly release through the LLC once it’s created ?

I disagree on the running ads perspective. If artists are breaking the bank running ads for $10-$20 daily, then they may have to focus on other priorities to put themselves in a position to do so. Running ads is by far the most effective and shortest route to cultivating artists' fan bases by far if done effectively. We gotta stop encouraging artists to join the rat race. My best clients are those who released their debut singles with ads and have done phenomenal, grew fans, made money, and earned opportunities while earning a small celebrity type status (something hard to do when you're running around trying to network all the time).

My position on ads for this video is for new artist that don't have any traction or any foundation. If you don't have those two things, ads will not be your best friend, organic content will. When you look a the entire picture of the operation $300-$600 a month in ad spend is not a great use of resources when there is so much more that needs to be built in order to facilitate the leads that come from those ads. As I see that your response is valid based on your experience mine is too. It's just a matter of perspectives.
@asheqmusic
@asheqmusic 23 күн бұрын
@@MusicMoneyMakeover What do you mean by what "needs to be built to facilitate the leads"? Shouldn't those things be in place long before the song is released? It sounds like this route demands more unnecessary work for the artist to build their brands through means other than music. You mentioned the differences between "artist promotion" and "music promotion", which was a little confusing because isn't promoting the music successfully promoting the artist who created it as well? Some artists I've promoted have literally had people stopping in the street because they knew their music from the advertising. Their KZbin channels amassed hundreds to thousands of subscribers and real fans. You also mentioned the value of "organic content", what is more organic than the artist's original song and music video? When did selling music become this complex? If an artist needs to use a tool other than the music to push the music then it simply isn't good enough, which makes marketing as a whole ineffective or a waste of money. I'm all for different perspectives, but I believe they should be backed by data rather than opinions or points of view alone. I have literal case studies that display the power of marketing (especially at the beginning) even when the music isn't considered good. Recommending artists to connect with people to feature them or host their music is counter-productive for most if they want to be looked at and treated as stars. Mystery also plays into their favor as people are more drawn to people that everyone has heard about but knows nothing about. This isn't a stab at your perspective, I watch videos like this from other creators alike and share the same information. Artist success should be fact-driven, it's something I work every day to live by. Nonetheless wishing you the best with everything and am glad we were able to exchange ideas!
