In my freshman year of college, I built a KZbin channel that reached 20,000 subscribers, primarily through reaction videos. After working in sales for over two years, my perspective on life has shifted. As I observe the growing trend of provocative content, negativity, and drama taking over the internet, I decided to take a different path. I've started a new channel, not just to document my personal journey, but to inspire the upcoming generation in a positive way. Although I'm currently at 10 subscribers, I feel more authentic with this fresh direction, and I’m committed to creating content that truly matters. I don’t know how you did it, man, but this morning started with the words I’ve been searching for-not just for the past few months, but maybe my entire life (I’m 30 and just started the YT channel). Starting anything is always hard, but having a clear WHY makes all the difference. It’s like growing a tree: its roots must first reach down to hell before it can grow to the heavens. Hearing that the first attempt at anything will suck was a revelation. Social media and real life often hide the messy beginnings; we don’t see the struggles behind success. For a long time, I believed that achieving your dreams required a special gift. But there are no gifts-only hard work and a deep understanding of why you’re doing what you’re doing. So much wisdom. So much value. And of course, you are the King of capturing attention. Huge thanks to the KZbin algorithm for bringing me here, and thank you, Dan, for your incredible work. Hats off! 👏

The best way to do content creation is to put yourself in a position of power financially so that you enter and stay in the space without being desperate. While desperation can lead to massive action, for the most part, it is negative. It is a position you don't want to be in. I have done the same thing from the age of 32, hitting rock bottom, working on myself for 7-8 years, and then seeing unimaginable success. Now, I have found my purpose in content creation, but I can afford to invest a lot into it, both time and money, while not being desperate or being that starving artist.

So true. I am still on this desperation situation after having failed with a failed project which took all I had. Did you went back getting a job? Any advice you could share on how to take it easy while being in desperation?
@Uncommony2 ай бұрын
@jeronimoduarte I still work, but in a very lucrative industry, that allows me to pursue my purpose. There are a couple of ways.# First is mindset, which is hard because we are all human. The grind and constant struggle will have you second guessing and feeling sorry for yourself. But anything is as good or as bad as you want it to be it's a mindset. Secondly , which I prefer and I'm a great advocate of is self investment, but we are not all blessed with the time, money, or knowledge. Example, I hit rock bottom and was stuck on minimum wage at the age of 32, I went back to college and got several qualifications to then climb to over six figures. Now I'm in a passion to do what I want when I want because I put myself in a position of power. Yes, I sacrificed sleep, comfort, going out, etc, but I now reap the rewards. So, know so much more is possible for you if you apply yourself, stick to something, and give it time. You got this

I only started KZbin lately after pursued a pretty successful career in last 20 years up till today I had epiphany of changed my life path to pursue something meaningful for myself being a true me. I have started slowly to learn the technique behind. I am glad to start now as technology makes much easier to produce content. My point of view is how to drive the technique to deliver unique message to the world and I don’t care much about getting paid or not; being liked or disliked I think when I can remove the attachment to the outcomes I can be more free to do something to service others. Thanks.

Thank you for being your authentic self. I truly admire your content and the values you share. I believe I have meaningful life experiences and strong values that could inspire others, but I often feel stuck and unsure of where to begin. I'm hoping that through watching your videos, I'll gain the clarity I need to focus on a specific path and take the first step forward. Thank you for being a source of guidance and inspiration!

A content creator who copies a very banal message tells me not no become a content creator without being authentic. great advice. 😀

It is almost like, in the past, when people lived on small farms. They had chickens, cows, etc. their farms produced for them and any excess they “took to market” to sell and also buy what else they needed. It is like what we produce as creators can be “brought to market”. I’ve read many books, to condense that knowledge into articles that can provide the information and be consumed in a fraction of the time might be the “excess” that I can “bring to market” I hope to learn how to put all of this together into a plan for a business to make a living from it

Hi, how interesting. Could you recommend any of the books you mentioned? Thank you very much.

Dan you can add too much value in single video I didn't digest on one time I can divided into parts 😂❤

This video is for me. I have been struggling to grow my channel, and this video brought some clarity as to why I find it so hard to create the type of content I have been creating. To me, content creation should be meaningful. It should be impactful on someone’s life. Having to chase views and making content around keywords that will get views is the reason I don’t post consistently and even have considered giving up on my dream of being a KZbinr. This video made me realize being a KZbinr isn’t the same as being an influencer. Thank you!

I’m a creator, been one for 25 years. I actually make art, just attempted to make a KZbin channel showing paintings and stuff I work on daily, it’s depressing. Screens are depressing. Modernity, pfffft.

When did life and making money become this complicated. When I left school you walked into the shop opposite where you lived and you got a job, instantly. Can't we just go back to that?

I've literally NEVER written a comment before on KZbin! I almost never subscribe to anyone! And here I am, hitting the subscribe button without even thinking at the 20th second of the video, writing a comment. Because after spending the last 2-3 years (I'm 27) thirsting for value, focusing on self-improvement, and searching for and listening to people who actually create value, I felt within half a minute that I had found the deepest, like-minded thinking I’ve ever encountered. Please accept my sincerest admiration and respect. Regards, Your newest subscriber.

A brand is a belief system. So to build a brand you need 4 things. 1. Your key belief or vision - the brand 2. An audience - your people 3. A medium for communication - books, speeches etc 4. The messages - content Martin Luther King believed that one day a black man will govern America. This statement captures is core belief or vision. His vision is that the US will stop racism. He gave speeches on podiums in public So that’s his medium He had an audience and that’s African Americans Well he said a lot and. Write a lot. But every message he created and communicated was still centered around a belief. A belief is a brand. Because the way we see the world and our values and our behaviour are a direct results of the beliefs we hold. If you look at Apple, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Jesus. You can use the 4 things listed above to have a better look at their brand What do you believe Who needs it How will I communicate with them

I read a book by author, Sharon Blackie, "Hagitude, Reimagining the Second Half of Life," I transformed the European depictions of archetypal elder women into music, costume and dance using a Roland Jupiter X synthesizer, which has all the classic 80s "Stranger Things" sounds. I even opened a recording studio with live event space to perform it and that was all the easy part. Now the hard part, finding my audience.

Thanks for making this video. I've been fortunate to work in the arts as a professional all of my adult life and the "content creator" movement has always made me feel incredible creative inertia for all of the reasons you just listed. I also dislike "personal brands" and thought I was just being archaic and hippy-ish in my sentiment. Glad to know I was right all along! 😅 I come from a teacher and mentor mentality and just align so much with all you're saying. I'm excited for this more authentic movement 🎉

I just kind of made a video on this. I saw a comment on a Nadeshot video where he was talking about his 9-5. It said: "Too many people are chasing outcomes instead of journeys. That's the difference. Nobody knew you could get rich from this back in the day, everyone who did only got there because they loved doing it. Streaming and content is saturated with people doing it for money just because they don't like their 9-5. You're never going to get anywhere if you're only thinking of outcomes." Thank you for making this video. I want to be part of this next generation of creators. I want to encourage positivity and change reality. We need community and relationships. So much stuff is targeted to the individual. We got to where we are today as a species by helping each other.
