He was plagued with a problematic knee for ages in his latter years and barely could play 20 games per season, and his issues began at 26! Harry Redknapp being the legend that he is said it was still worth having him, but a football team has lots of people to cover you, unlike a CS team. Jack Wishare of Arsenal basically spend 4 combined years out injured and after having had him for only about 8 years, Arsenal decided to start loaning him out, seeing how he was never available. Despite spending a full 8 seasons with them, he had just under 200 appearances for them. In other words - yes. If I'm Astralis, I'd also try to cut ties.

considering CS can now be broken down into almost defined seasons I don't understand why orgs don't sign contracts that end mid season. That way if a team wants your player and you know they're going you can at least get a little something for the last couple months and if they don't want to pay then bam ya just lose them mid season in which case they're not incentivized to do that because of the time crunch it'd put on them to get results or even practice.

Most of these moves are sound imo, I really hope BIG get it together as I have a soft spot for them. Zonic is 1000000% a fraud. What people often forget is that prime Astralis had ALL FIVE players in the HLTV top 13. Their WORST rated player in 2018 was Xyp9x. Yes, he was the absolute worst performing prime Astralis player. Arguably the most clutch player in all of Counter Strike history, who single handedly won some of the craziest rounds ever seen, was their worst performer. Obviously coaching and leadership can play a big role in how players perform. But NEVER has any coach had the miracle of dealing with a roster with literally ZERO flaws or weak links.

I think it's unlikely S1mple wins another major unless he gets a very stacked team in which he is less of the star and more a jewel in the crown. How old was f0rest and GeT_RiGhT when CS:GO was released? Granted the level of opposition now compared to the beginning of CS:GO isn't even close, the money and the amount of players and teams competing now is like night and day compared to early CS:GO. Still CS2 is a lot closer to CS:GO then CS:GO was to 1.6, especially in the beginning. Maybe it will fuel his grinding mentality, maybe it'll just frustrate him.
