Great Video. Santa Cruz makes dam good bikes. The VPP linkage descends the best. Especially as a mullet. An average climber though.

I have a 2016 bronson that I modified into a mullet setup with a new fox 36 fork and 29 inch wheel. I love it, only complaint is it's a bit too short (2016 sizes were tiny). Really looking forward to the comparison because it's not that easy to find Santa Cruz bikes on test where I live.

That is the noisiest Santa Cruz bike I have ever heard, my 6 year old un-maintained Hightower is silent compared to that Bronson. 😅 Nice video and nice trails as well. ✌️🤠

I have a Santa Cruz 5010 and it was the same way. Noisy as hell for such an expensive bike. I added the STFU dampener and the bike is silent now. Hate having to buy stuff like that but I can’t stand a noisy bike.

My 23 Nomad made a ton of noise from the brake line where it is routed into the rear triangle. A few wraps of some electrical tape on both ports of entry shut her up right quick. I’d guess some of his noise is related, seems a common thing on these rigs

Dang you just hear everything from that bike. One of the noisiest bikes anyone has ridden. WTF is going on with all the linkage and chain and suspension and whatever else is rattling and squeaking??? Edit: someone said "shopping cart". Yeah that's about right.

I’m 6’1”. Because I don’t like them. Makes it very hard to lean the bike and corner properly.

Noisy as hell - you sure it’s not that gx transmission mech making all that chain slap - im not convinced it’s the bike I’d guess it’s more the weight of the heavy gx mech causing it - I bet if you stuck a mechanical group on there the noise would all but disappear - but I’m guessing there’s no port for cables on this one

To quiet down the chain slap, try an Ochain and additional chainslap tape on the underside of the seatstay (something like pinched mastic tape or STFU tape). All the recent Santa Cruz bikes seem to suffer from pronounced chain slap. Those two changes have turned my 5010 and Bronson from shopping carts to reasonably quiet bikes. Ochain seems to make an especially noticeable noise difference on Santa Cruz bikes compared to other bikes I've put it on.

My 5010 v4 is very quiet, except on harsh landings (fairly fast rebound so the chain gets kicked back quickly).
