So envious that you could wear that white hoodie while starting seeds. I am always wiping my hands on my shirt and leaving dirt smudges. I love Bells of Ireland as well.

I use a wooden skewer to transfer seeds to the cells. Some people use toothpicks but I prefer the extra length of the wooden skewers and you can find a package of them in the grocery store and have a supply for the future.
@shesamadgardener16 сағат бұрын
I'm going to have to try that! I have used toothpicks and tweezers but skewers sounds much easier.

Did Bells of Ireland in winter sowing jugs in my 6a/7b garden. They were beautiful. Seeds from Renee Garden. Going to try Cleone this year. 💐💐💐

Another tip packed seeding video. Thanks Try men’s ankle socks 🧦. I wear a size 11 women’s, so I relate to the sock sliding down! 🤦♀️

Hi. I had to chuckle. You and I laugh about the vicious Zulu Warrior flower, then you start Bells of Ireland….those spikes can GIT cha! I grew Cleome last year after seeing you grow them. They were sticky to touch and a little smelly 🤣. Are they all like that? I still have seeds so I will keep growing them. They are pretty for sure. Your video today was fun and funny ❤

I was watching a different seed starting video from a flower farmer. She was using a toothpick, wetting the end of it, and using it to pick up small seeds and get them to stay on the soil. Makes sense so I am going to try that. I always have the problem of the seed and soil sticking to my fingers and I have no idea if I removed the tiny seed or displaced it. Let me know if you have tried this approach and it worked for you. Stay warm - I am enjoying the snow flurries falling in DFW today. NOT ice though!

That's a great tip! Someone above also suggested a bamboo skewer as it’s longer and doesn’t cramp your hand.

Hi Amanda! Coming from zone 9b low AZ desert! I LOVE those planting kits! So far I have 25 of them! They are made very well! I am starting so many plants for my new business AnnieJoe's Plants, and I can put so many of them under lights in my grow room on my shelves! I love your videos! Thank you!

I haven’t grown cleome in years. The ones I grew threw tons of seeds and I had trouble keeping them in check year after year. Some that you buy from the nursery are sterile so this isn’t an issue.
@shesamadgardener16 сағат бұрын
Mine have never reseeded but I will definitely keep an eye out for that! Thanks for letting me know!
@patboyle26718 сағат бұрын
The cleome looks beautiful looking forward to seeing them in your garden ❤ also what grow lights would you recommend where you don’t have to have the seeds close to the light?
@shesamadgardener16 сағат бұрын
No matter what grow light you use, the seeds will always need to be within 4-6 inches of the light.
