Cannot understand all the fuss over the 2.5 being "underpowered", as I find its power quite ample and acceptable (I have the 2.5 in the Outback). It's a utility vehicle, that I would have no intention of bringing to a dragstrip.

There is always that small segment of would be buyers that think they need their utility vehicle to be a race car. Like you I cannot figure out why it is considered a priority when the vast majority of buyers in this segment have other priorities in mind.

Pluses: 1) Full time AWD 2) Naturally aspirated engine (simple, reliable,) 3) Great visibility and roominess Minuses: 1) Touch screen for most all controls 2) less power and more weight than last generation 3) Uglier than last generation

I'd buy a Subaru with a shorter warranty over a Kia/Hyundai. Those korean cars fall to pieces in 5 years and I would only lease like a Volvo.

Actually they don't fall apart if they are maintained properly. Volvo is now a Chinese company that is using the name to pump EV's into this country without paying the duty. Cheaters? Yes, like always.
