HI, I am a mechanic, Former a manager of a Large Automotive repair shop in Canada. I LOVE your Video. wish I had it to show future mechanics, That I hard working with me! Following your Video To'a' T. TWO little Points. I like To Menston (i) remove the oil filler cap, after you Take off The oil plug. in your case, Just before you open The drain assembly (this increases The flow of oil from The engine, if you remove The oil cap before The oil plug The oil will Splatter.) NEVER OVER TIGHTEN The oil filter. over tighten oil filter destroyes The Treads, makes it LEAK, something all or most all, Car & Truck manufacturers have built into Their machines. I'll leave The reason why upto you!

@@WilsonJohnson-y1i Thanks. You're of course right about overtightening the filters. Most of the time I get it as tight as I can with my hands.

Part of my driveway is sloped so I can situate the ramps so that the car is level when I drain and fill. I also use the hack of pouring the oil remaining in the jug to clean out traces of old oil.

I used the Fumoto drain since 2004 for my 99 econoline 7.3L diesel van I question whether or not the outback has enough clearance to the ground for that for drain plug…?? I am going to change the oil at 1000 miles … due to the heavy initial wear when engine is breaking in … it’s a brand new 2025 outback…

I always remove the fill plug first on any fluid change just in case it's stuck!

I installed the fumoto on my forester. Amazon has the tokyo roki filter. on oil chnges add 1/4 to 1/2 a quart after the dripping stops to rinse All the dirty oil out. drain valve traps some old dirty oil otherwise

Did you use the Fumoto washer or the Subaru crush washer when you installed it? I’m about to install my first one and now trying to figure out which is best.

Handtighten filter, no tools needed. Don't over tighten.
