Love the looks, but all Triumphs look good. Love the clean and tidy engine which keeps its heritage appearance. But most of all, I love the hidden modern day tech it offers..., not too much, but enough for todays riders. A bike with an engine size and weight to cope with all conditions when being used as an everyday bike, wether it be for weekend trips or weekday commuting. Certainly a bike for me to consider when downsizing next Spring. Happy New Year Dei, and thanks for all the fantastic content from 2024. I wish you, and all yours, a healthy and successful 2025. Looking forward to what's coming here next year..., keep the rubber side down, Steve.

Great review. Your question to Stuart Woods re all the markets they have to sell into was great. It probably answers the question that others have asked 'why all the electronics and questionable colour schemes?' However Triumph have to be brave with each new iteration. People change their minds. I reckon it will sell like 'hot cakes' and it does look so very clean like a 1968 Bonneville. If I was looking for a new 'do everything' bike it would be at the top of my list but I'am very happy with my V7 850.... at the moment.

Yep definitely got the old Triumph T140 Bonneville look about it, But really needs to have Two clocks to make it look right. But they need to drop the price a bit, Seeing as these are made in Thailand and with the New Honda Hornet SP for £10.000.

Like you diamante I'm not a fan of that colour scheme, but they do have other options. The only thing I really can't get on with is that new digital clock. Half LCD and a mini TFT is no improvement on a modern classic. I like the old one and why offset it?. It looks clumsy!. Otherwise a great review as always & what a great place to go ride it. 😊

Thank you for the great review of this bike. In my opinion, the new version looks more plasticky than before. Unfortunately, Triumph has stopped using analog indicators for this model. The new indicators are more suitable for the Trident or Tiger, but not for the Speed Twin. I’m okay with modern panels on bikes like the Tiger or Speed Triple, but not on a modern classic-style motorcycle. P.S. Nice sweatshirt!

I think TRIUMPH made a mistake, the meter is already less beautiful than the previous one. They wanted to modernize it, it's not a success, I prefer the 2023 2024 model. I don't think they're going to sell many, the 2023 2024 models are still on sale. In addition to making a black exhaust, OK we can change the version before it was more beautiful.
@petrtr7602Ай бұрын
I see it the same way. I have a 2024 model year and I was a little worried that I would regret not waiting for the 2025 model year. And now I'm glad. For me, the big attraction was the classic look - this version partially lost that after the update and did not compensate for it with increased performance, for example.

That tank colour in my opinion is hideous, I can't for the life of me think who it will appeal to,maybe it's a throw back to a vintage scheme they had back in the day? Black is defiantly the better option, apart from that looks and sounds mint👌 is it worth chopping in my modded interceptor for.....🤔 not sure

Triumph never seem to understand who there market is no one wants upside down forks rider modes or awfull cheap digital gauges on a retro bike all that just puts the price up for no reason and puts buyers off so people look elsewhere one day they will realise that.😐🤶
@JohnnyXozАй бұрын
I think a lot of companies deliberately stuff things up, so they can 'correct' them in newer models...I see it all the time
@logangodofcandyАй бұрын
That's all bullshit, except rider modes. Most people just pick one and stay in it or they want an option to turn off traction control or abs.
@devonnobles1083Ай бұрын
I definitely want usd forks, and I am happy to have the electronics as well. I would never have considered the previous versions of this bike. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my wife onboard with me buying one. I think it was smart to divide the 900 twin platform (more modern speed 900 vs more classic t100). And I'm certain triumph did it in response to research. And I would bet money that it will continue to be their best selling twin.
@brfreese5802Ай бұрын
I like rider modes, particularly rain mode if I run into bad weather or with a new passenger. I prefer my Scram single clock with small LCD window to my T120 dual clock. Either one looks good on the classic bikes. The newer digital displays are not on the classics
@ronaldthomas9396Ай бұрын
This is not a retro classic!
@lylemacdonald6672Ай бұрын
For me a 'retro' bike in this vein must have laced wheels, ' right side up forks' and dual analogue clocks. I was surprised at the hp rating given it is a 900cc unit: it must be detuned to a degree; I was expecting hp to be in the 85 range.
@JohnnyXozАй бұрын
Horse Power is basically top end speed...Here it may be around 110mph and you wouldn't really want to ride this bike faster than that...if speed is your thing get something built for that
@lylemacdonald6672Ай бұрын
@@JohnnyXoz My comment concerning hp was not in reference to potential top end speed but rather to the hp/cc ratio. 'Normal' bikes in the 70's and early 1980's would commonly have a ratio of 1hp/15cc or so while today's higher compression engined 'normal' bikes run in the 1hp/10cc range irrespective of overall size and top end gearing. The Speed Twin 1200 is 1hp/11.6cc displacement while the Speed Twin 900 is 1hp/15cc. Super bikes like the BMW S1000RR put out around 1hp/5cc.
@the.communistАй бұрын
@@lylemacdonald6672 this bike is specialized on low end torque not hp.
@petrtr7602Ай бұрын
@@lylemacdonald6672 I think it's a business policy - to create a bigger gap in the market between the Speed Twin 900 and 1200. I was quite disappointed that the power remained the same after the modernization, I also expected that they would raise it to at least 70 hp without any problems.
