Yeah, no. Volvo ranks near the bottom of every brand reliability ranking. Mercedes also poor but BMW ranks much higher. Volvo makes a well-styled vehicle but the ICE models are all underpowered for the luxury segment.
@social_lag2 ай бұрын
@@scooter5940All those reliability rankings are bs, some of them you can even buy, like JD Power. And consumer reports is unbelievably frustrating. Also, this is an ice vehicle, that’s also a hybrid with 455 hp? I don’t think that’s under powered? Nor the 316 hp of the T6
@scooter59402 ай бұрын
@@social_lag Right, you know better about reliability based on your extensive anecdotal experience……talking ICE are underpowered. All luxury PHEV’s are fast, but most consumers don’t want them and for good reason. 316 HP is nothing for a vehicle of this size, and that turbo four will work too hard, and gets shit mileage. Volvo is Chinese junk with a pretty exterior.

I have one of these (2024), and can confirm it’s a missile when both the engine & ERAD are working, and there’s been many times where I’ve only spent $3.50 a week in gas if using ERAD only. It costs me about $.70 per full charge at home, and $3.36 per full charge at work, and the full charge will take me about 40 miles. Some companies will pay for employee charging, so in theory I’d only pay $.70 for each trip to work where it would be 2 gallons of gas ($7.04). Aside from some infotainment and rear-view camera issues, I’m really liking it.

Thanks for the info. What do you pay per KW for your electricity at home? In Alberta it's around $0.10c/kw.
@matthelms41672 ай бұрын
@@jeffivan870 I think it’s around $.07/kw. Charging at night is around $.048/kw if you sign up for off-peak rates, but the peak rate is quite high and we have to use the AC quite a bit in the summer during the day -

When you try to open the tail gate it has to be like a kick, if you do it too slow it doesn't work. Just a quick quick motion moving your foot fast under the "V" and it should work everytime. Took me awhile to get used to it also.

Drove this directly after a Lexus and suspension is very stiff- is not actually very comfortable compared. The engine was super fun though. Only the top trim (ultra) had comfortable seats. the lesser trims just weren't very compfortable. the rear/boot is surprisingly plain and I can't believe they don't have latches so that you can drop seats from the rear of the vehicle. My 9 year old Mazda has a better trunk with latches. Overall I love the engine and cockpit, but a lot of things could be improved.

It’s odd that Volvo continues to put a 3.7 kW onboard charger in this. If you happen to have a level two charger you can charge a base model Rav4 Prime twice as fast. It’s not critical, but how much more would it cost to keep up with the competition?
@Noll90373 ай бұрын
The EU spec is twice as fast. So question why we can’t have good things here in US. I have the 2025 T8 Ultra and it is great.
@nickhoare89062 ай бұрын
@@Noll9037EU spec for 6.4kW Charging requires a 2 Phase charger. I have yet to find a public charger that will do that and I’ve yet to hear of anyone who has managed to achieve 6.4kW charging. Uk homes do not have 3 phase. It can be installed £££ and then maybe there are home charging points that can be configured as 2 phase? So 6.4kW may be in the spec but so far for me it is no use.

@@nickhoare8906a uk home charger normally charges up to 7.2 if the car allows (eg my current Merc E class). Are you saying this will only charge at 3.7 on standard home charger? I will find out for myself in a couple of weeks and no biggie as I eco-charge when solar panels are generating anyway
@nickhoare890626 күн бұрын
@@simonpj145 At home (Zappi) it charges at 3.7 and on public 7kW chargers it only charges at 3.7 . Not tried it on a faster public charger yet. Ultra without B&W system is a joke to buy or recommend. H&K speakers compared with B&W are just rubbish. In UK B&W comes standard in Ultra as there is no point to have cheap awful speakers in premium package. Not sure why it’s not like that in other countries. As for opening boot with your leg you have to swing your foot under from one side to another.
