This Silver color really accentuates the lines on this car!

Same color I have on my 2020 SEL.

I just bought an SEL in this exact color combo and I love it. After 1st fill-up I averaged 35 mpg with mixed driving. The 1.5T is much quicker than the 158 hp rating would indicate.

It’s nice but I miss the Passat!

I miss the Arteon but main reason one I bought a brand new left over 2023 Arteon SEL Premium R-Line 4Motion earlier this year and could not be happier. VW Group of America miscalculated by discontinuing the Passat in 2022 and Arteon after 2023 because they thought the US dealer body was eager to replace both with an ugly blob and overpriced German made EV mid size electric sedan (ID.7) which was put on indefinite hold by VW Group of America for US sale release at the end of May. Picture this, a $50K+ German made electric sedan that qualifies for no Federal EV incentives because it is manufactured in Europe, car is ugly as heck and has nothing on the gorgeous Arteon which is also made in Germany (Same plant where the ID.7 is made and the previous B8 Euro Passat that we never got here, in Emden Germany). After the US VW dealer council pushed back hard against the ID.7, now the VW US product catalog has only 1 sedan left: Jetta/GLI. Mr. Pablo de Si CEO of VW Group of America: Please reconsider this poor decision to virtually eliminate mid size sedans from the US product portfolio in favor of more and more crossovers and SUVs. There is a good chunk of this market that do not like those vehicles or have grown sick and tired of them and want to go back into sleek, fun to drive and more efficient sedans!.
@Pamlicojdjdj14872 ай бұрын
And the reason why the Jetta/GLI still exists here it’s because sells very well and probably better than the Taos crossovers (From the mouth of VW Group of America CEO). So this disproves their theory that mainstream sedans don’t sell because it is a lie😂
@Pamlicojdjdj14872 ай бұрын
VW dealers in the US have stockpiles of unsold ID.4 electric crossovers because no one wants them. They can’t get rid of them fast enough but they insist EVs are the “Future” and sedans and station wagons have no business case in the United States😂

VW would never let the refreshed Jetta look this good if they still had the Passat to upsell

Hey Reese, does the SE or Sport not come with the dual meters in the digital cockpit like in this video? (Speedometer and not sure what the other meter is).
@vwguru2 ай бұрын
No, they do not. That has always been the case for Jetta, Tiguan, and Taos. That Discovery Pro Display is only on the top trim in each of those models. The GLI was the only exception.

@@vwguru Thanks Reese. Buying a Jetta in the next two months.

It’s nice looking car, looks very luxurious, but I hear they burn oil, my aunts 2015 Passat SE 1.8T burns oil. Do they still burn oil?

Nice refresh all the way around. Only thing VW needs to do is make the map and dome lights LED instead of incandescent for a more upscale look. Someone should put this forward to VW.
@Pamlicojdjdj14872 ай бұрын
That won’t happen until the Jetta/GLI are both ported over to the MK8/8.5 platform and electronics. Not sure if the Jetta/GLI will make it to a next generation around 2026-2027 (Current car has been on sale since 2019 with 2 lifecycle refreshes first in 2021 and second refresh this year in 2024).
@Pamlicojdjdj14872 ай бұрын
Also this generation Jetta/GLI has been a victim of vile cost cutting as witnessed in the back seating area of these vehicles😂
@vwguru2 ай бұрын
Not even sure that the Jetta will survive until 2027. VW is planning on cutting this sedan too.

Hello why is there no vents in the back and no phone charges
@Pamlicojdjdj14872 ай бұрын
Because VW has sought out to make inexcusable cost cutting which has literally and figuratively taken a “Back seat”😂. Missed opportunity to fix this on the second Jetta/GLI MK7.75 refresh. The rear seat of this car is a third class section of the cabin: No rear AC vents, no USB-C ports (Or at least 1 USB-C and 1 12 Volt port), hard plastic door cards, fixed outer position head rests (Only the center headrest can be adjusted). Imagine paying $35K for a fully loaded GLI and you still get none of the above but a $31K basic MK8 GTI S does have rear seat AC vents, adjustable headrests on all seating positions and 2 rear seat USB-C ports. The GTI is simply a no brainer in my book, plus made in Germany too vs Mexico (Jetta/GLI). And you gain the versatility of the hatchback and much better powertrain, more power and better chassis dynamics over the generation older Jetta/GLI.

The rear seat of this car is packaged for Taxi, Uber/Lyft service. No actual Private passenger use.
