Western Cascadia.. Freightliner must be out of ideas on how to repackage their century. Bring back the classic. Manufacturers shot themselves in the foot when they got rid of hoods and manual transmission. Now everything looks the same only the stickers change.

While I agree that it would be cool for Freightliner to bring back long hoods, they did what they did with this truck for a very specific reason . Prior to these trucks the western star brand utilized its own wiring and systems and it made it harder to work on . Now it’s identical to the Cascadia with wiring and thus making it much more serviceable. Daimler has to try to grow the brand somehow and I can tell you from experience that it was a pain in the ass to work on the old western stars
