Watching your video now glad to see someone else have similar thoughts I run the Stevie map it's a little bit smoother good power that's what I usually use. And yes she is very stiff I waited 6 hours before doing any suspension work and she was still stiff.. and yes front brake is horrible I had to do the zip tie trick over the lever and I let it 3 times and finally got it somewhat decent

I agree, the Stevie map helped a lot 👍

I’m going to open the clickers to see how it feels. I grabbed the Stevie map so I will try it next time out. Found a stick between the rotor and brake pad… unreal. Haha

Great Vid mate👍, got my eyes set on one of these babies also. How'd you go about rectifying the front brake? Have heard many people have had the same issue? Is it a pad thing/rotor or just requires bedding in overall?

Thanks. I haven’t had a chance to figure anything out. If you watch my follow up video the bike is at the dealer for a smoking issue. I’m going to compare the components to my 450 because the front brake on the 450 is great.

+1 subscriber. I heard you mention 350 so I had to go back and check out your other videos. I've had a lot of recent KTMs, 4 stroke and 2 stroke. I also have a 23 350xcf. Long story short I rode a 2021 250fx last fall and I was so impressed with how it handled. and I have two different types of A kit suspension on two 2023 KTMs. I've decided I need to test owning a 250fx. If you could only have one bike, is the 250fx a contender? I would also like to try some 2025 KTMs and see if the updates they've made since the introductory 2023 frame have helped a lot.

Nice and thanks for the sub! It could be my only bike but I still stand behind I'd have a 350 if I could only have 1 bike. I have to get some more hours on the 250FX to really see how I like. Between getting over an injury, front brake issues and the bike smoking at startup, I was a bit distracted. I hear great things on the 2025 KTMs as well!

Good video(s)! If prices were exactly the same, would you go with the 250FX or the 450FX?

I’ll let you know once I get some hours on the 250. Only have about an hour on the 250 so far.

@@JRideRR That's fair! I look forward to seeing how you like the 250. A couple local dealers have both 250FX and 450FX leftovers so I'm considering picking one up!

I recommend the G2 throttle tamer

I might have missed it in the video, but what was your primary reason for picking up the 250, since you have the 450 already?
@JRideRR5 күн бұрын
Primary reason is to use it for enduros and some of the tighter hare scramble races.

Your break-in ride looks like my typical ride including the fall. 😂 Looking forward to see how the 250 compares to the 450 AND how they both compare with the KTM 350. Hope you heal up quickly. I have seen others reviewing the 25 250 have issues with the front brake early on. I even noticed a little slop in the one I looked at on the showroom floor. Something to be look for if you buy one.

Thanks! Believe it or not there was a small stick stuck in between my rotor and brake pad. Found it while checking the bike over.

What riding area? That single track looks fun. I am curious your thoughts on the 250 vs the 450fx after more time on both especially racing each.

St Mary’s. Yeah, I’ll share my thoughts once I get some more seat time on the 250.

I’m scared to get one of these. I’m running a yz450 but it’s not fx. Im scared I won’t be happy not to have the power of the 450 but I want a fx for trail riding

Why not grab a 450FX then?
@stevenmartin87649 күн бұрын
@ I thought about it. I have a 09. Are the newer ones like riding a donkey in the woods? lol mine beats be up even just riding around the house

The 24 450FX has a really smooth power delivery. Probably the most surprising thing about that bike. It can still be a handful in real tight single track but if that's all I rode I'd buy a 2-stroke. I have a good amount of videos on the 450 which should give you a better idea on the power delivery and characteristics of the bike.

yamaha could just make 1 engine size, a 350cc, it would replace both 250 and 450 cc

Puff of blue smoke is normal on these 250fs at startup.
@JRideRR16 күн бұрын
Yeah, that wouldn’t worry me. I went to change my oil yesterday and it smoked lightly for 2-3 mins. Smoke increased with a light rev… 30-day warranty. I’ll see what the dealer thinks. 👎

Thanks for sharing. I have a 23 WR250F and a 23 WR450F. I ride desert single track primarily. Even in these conditions I find that I am faster on the 250. It is soo flickable. I actually prefer the 250 over the 350. Felt like it turned better, and if feels a lot lighter. My 450 feels lighter to me in fast flowing single track than the 350. My two stroke has been sitting in the garage! Which is rare for me. These Yamaha's are really good. I am thinking of upgrading to the 25 250FX.

Yes… but realize there are people watching this that may not know or understand this point. I mentioned I won’t judge it until I get more hours on it. 👍
