It's hard to go wrong with team blue right now. If I didn't already have a '21 yz450f Monster Energy Edition. I'd consider a 300cc 2 stroke from Yamaha. I'm real happy with the bike I have. It's still in my opinion. The fastest, most durable, high speed off-road motorcycle ever built. The innumerable mods I've lost track of doing on it. With more to come, as even regular maintenance enivitably leads to rebuilding of many components. Has only made it better. Cable clutches are not ideal for sustained slow speed maneuvers. But I'm not riding like that often enough to worry about it. I've only had my Tusk cooling fan come on twice since I've owned the bike. Probably because the high pressure Myler's radiator cap was one of the very first things I swapped in. Don't buy the expnsive gimmicky ones that look stock. Get the round ribbed black plastic style. Way more durable and low profile, for like $10 bucks! My radiators are so encased in aluminum guards and braces. You can barely even see the cooling fan I've got custom mounted up in there. The digital LCD screen on the miniature control box. Can be easily mounted on the headset with double sided heavy duty foam adhesive tape. I'm constantly checking the LCD readout to monitor temps. Even when it's parked. Totally worth the $99 bucks I payed back then. I highly recommend those 2 mods to any bike that doesn't already have them. Peace!

Question... why not a steer stabilizer ? Like a SCOTT. It helps on rock deflection.You can set sweep angle, and resistance. I liked them, hit a rock, front tire always wants to return to straight...👍
@bertamusprime61810 күн бұрын
@@coreyelmendorf6335 Because of the slower speeds. Plus some of these tough enduro guys don’t like the resistance it puts on the steering.
@coreyelmendorf633510 күн бұрын
@bertamusprime618 i ran enduros 18yrs love the stabilizer, you can set resistance to minimum, and it help the deflection. You set correctly, they save you energy 💯
@bertamusprime61810 күн бұрын
@@coreyelmendorf6335 I am just repeating what I have heard from other “Hard” Enduro guys. No matter how light you set the stabilizer there is still resistance. The other thing I hear from pros is if your suspension is dialed you don’t need a stabilizer. I have both raced/rode with and without them and can take them or leave them. Riding with or without one comes down to rider for sure.

@@coreyelmendorf6335 I’d be surprised to see any pro hard enduro rider running a steering stabiliser. You very rarely see them on XC/Enduro bikes either and those guys are going a LOT faster. Desert racing/Rally… sure, but unnecessary for hard enduro.

I don't think Cody's word will have much impact on yamaha's orientation about off roading! They still have more interest for motocros! What I mean is that I don't think yamaha will ever put a hydraulic clutch on their dirtbikes or an electric start on the yzs just because Cody might want one! On the other hand, take a look what they did with the yzf and the wrf250/450, they didn't switch to hydraulic just because Tomac swears on cable!
@Mockle0710 күн бұрын
People are so dogmatic about YZs in America, the comments sections are going crazy about what Cody’s doing. The unwelcome truth is that a used 2019 KTM 300 EXC / XC-W would be better than this in just about every way possible and you wouldn’t need to re-build the entire bike for it to work 😂 EDIT - I should have seen this coming, but some people have had their ego bruised because they think I am bashing the YZ… I am not, it’s a great bike that is still fun and with some mods is still a competitive woods bike.
@braap_biglunch10 күн бұрын

@bertamusprime61810 күн бұрын
Yes we and myself are very dogmatic towards the YZ. I want to think it’s because Americans like an under dog story and want to see the under dog win no matter what and we are willing to over look much of what Cody has done to the bike. For myself it comes down to suspension I like the feel of KYB over WP. Hopefully Yamaha takes some notes off Cody and builds something close.

All Yamaha would have to do is add E start and fuel injection to the 2-strokes, maybe offer a 300, and KTM would be out of business in a weekend.
@DirtBikeMagazine5 күн бұрын
You think everyone would switch?
@andrewjex57405 күн бұрын
@@DirtBikeMagazine I think a fair number of people would. And I think a lot of the people looking to get into the 2- stroke enduro scene would go with a Yamaha Over a KTM If Yamaha had E-start and fuel injection, and were able to maintain a similar price point to the current Yz250X. I know for myself, I have always owned Yamaha, but now that I'm getting older and not racing track anymore, I need a bike better suited to following my kids up a trail.
