Pretty standard stuff...i think this gun is going to be a shooter... I'm happy with the accuracy out of the box with junk ammo and I'm glad the break-in is over...lol

I have notice quality issue with Winchester brass also. Did a comparison with Remington and Remington was more consistent in weight and demension. That was with the 204 brass. I have 4 loads on my Hornady brass. Bought some 220 Swift brass and returned it. Out of 100 cases only 50 some were what I considered usable. Winchester did refund my money. Bought another 100 from different lot, much better. I have Savages 12fv's in 204. Barrels are rough and takes some time and patience to get them broke in. Well worth it.. Cleaning with good rods is essential. Thanks for the video.

I bought a 17 Remington back in 1997. I couldn't find a cleaning rod for it for the longest time. I ended up using a coat hanger at first, then moved on to a string with a loop on the end of it. I finally found a cleaning rod, but it was too short to clean from the receiver end. Had to be supper careful about the crown. Bought a 204R in 2007, but have since pulled the barrel and installed a 17 Remington barrel in its place. Just more fun for me.

Agree with you about the W brass. With 204R brass, it was terribly non-concentric. Only about half the bag was useable, I ended up sending it back and was very surprised that they sent me my money back incl my freight expense.

Love my 204 in Weatherby Vanguard. Great little caliber that lost a bit of traction here in Australia unfortunately. I load 32 Grain Hornady V-Max, and it’s a real little tack driver. It was actually my Father’s rifle, and it hasn’t done much work at all. I’ll muck around with it a little bit, and it’ll really come up well. Nice vid. Cheers from Down Under.

Nice man... glad you liked it. I have more reloading to do for it in the near future.

27.5 W 748 gets you 3800 fps with 32 gr moly coated bullets and is 1 inch higher @ 100 yards than uncoated bullets, mine puts them in 1 hole Ruger Mk II M77V. First thing people don't understand is a 3x9x40 scope is a crap scope, I have no gun with less than a 6x24x50mm scope even on my 22lr. If you can't see it you can't kill it....

Love my 204 in a Savage 12FV. Has over 1500 through it, only cleaned it once and it still shoots sub MOA. Is hitting well over 90% on Prairie Dogs

Shoots extremely well out of my T/C. 32 grain Hornady is great, but 40 grain Hornady is a little better. Absolute tack driver.

If I'm shooting in the .7moa at 100 yards and just over 1 moa at 200 yards with factory 40gr Hornady v-max loads ! Is there any risen to get a tighter group in our opinion ?
@pawild55943 жыл бұрын
Ya why not... with your current setup you'll be shooting a 5" group at 500yds...I'd have more confidence at that range with a 0.5MOA (2.5") group

@@pawild5594 It's just a factory Ruger M-77 with Sig Sauer Tango iv 6x24x50 a heavey varmint barrel / target laminated stock ! Like to have it glass beded and be able to reload for it ! (Because only Accurate Rifles are Interesting ) Larry Potterfield quoted !

Hey dude, Barrel Break-in is a controversial subject, the break-in it more of a personal process I have observed. However, One thing about your channel, You show us your intended expectation and the results you get, you also show your intended use and what it is centered around. I remember people back in the day buying nothing but the best barrels offered and having them installed by the top gunsmiths, here is the kicker, "We are shooting service rifle,, Right"? Open sights over the national match course of fire? what difference those barrels make will depend on your Marksmanship skills, position, and mental focus (Your Discipline) in order to get the most of what they offer. People need to sort out what they themselves are capable of, find a quiet place, and sort that out. I like your channel dude. Peace bro. -Dave

@@pawild5594 Maybe I shouldn't comment, my years were back a few on the firing line and I made some mistakes also trying to buy accuracy. It is a lot of work to really get good, I have medals, placards, and trophies from those years. Like always, something starts and if there is to make money out of it they will do it, I'm talking about "F" class, I remember when that all got started and it was a bunch of guys that couldn't make it in Match rifle or position shooting, however, they still liked to shoot, there was a place down at the end of the firing line for those guys. shooting off of sandbags, bipods, and shooting rests. None of their scores were tallied as Oficial Match scores, they knew who won and had a big handshake amongst themselves. So, now look at it. Good shooting to ya- Dave

What model gun?

Is a remington 700 with a criterion barrel.
@adamelam6385 Жыл бұрын
I don't reload so it's hard to leave my .223 because the price of ammo and availability is unmatched. It would be nice to have that extra distance but 300 yards here would be a long shot and a .223 will do that.

Best way to break in barrel is to shoot it .. and shoot it some more . Clean it when you get home and call it good. I clean my gun well once when it’s first out of the box .. then I take it out and shoot it till my hearts content .. at least 40 to 60 rounds .. then I clean it again when I get home. All my guns are shooters .. all of them are sub moa. So I really don’t buy into the shoot one round and clean and repeat .. waste of time .
