At 6:31, the Bots player copies an animated Factory and then taps it right away for mana to cast Time Walk. Does copying Factory work that way?

Hi David. It’s a very common misconception. I can’t link here to the relevant page but try and google it. It’s rule 707.2 “when copying an object… it copies the original values of the copied objects characteristic” which in this case is a land that can become a 2/2 artifact creature. So Weirdly enough the copy artifact comes in as a land. Not a creature and it does not have summoning sickness. This is in contrast to the old ruling two decades past where the copy was indeed a 2/2 artifact creature with summoning sickness. :)
