I spent over 12 years as a member of the RPC (V) at Wooton and Grantham. I wore the uniform with pride. The Pioneers were real 'comrades in arms'.

Cyprus 1966 we (RAOC ) shared barracks with a Pioneer Company from the then Royal Pioneer Corps - It was the first time in my army life that we found that they had a black Company Sergeant Major and a very well respected bloke he was too. I think that they must have been ahead of the "diversity" thing way back!
