Looks like localised flash curing because of the metal getting hot during curing. I rather link it. Great make Julie. I've been hassling for a black PU too. I don;t think they understand our need for black. I use gallons of black

Awww! I LOVE their songs! Australia has such cool birds! 💕😍❤ I love how "Cookie" the Kookaburrah lets you pet him/her. 😊 LOVE how the turtle turned out, Julie! It's so cool! The eyes are a great choice, and that effect caused by resin/alloy reaction is neat! Wouldn't change a thing! 😊💕👍

To get resin to properly adhere to metal, you need to clean the surface thoroughly and create some texture by sanding or using a wire brush to provide a surface that the resin can cling to.

If anyone is wondering, these springs are for smoothie shaker cups 😊 Really cute the way it turned out. Not a 100% sold on the silver fins, maybe clear but with the black coat like the body. But that’s just a personal preference, because it really is adorable 🥰

The springs remind me of the springs you put things like beads, crystals etc in for pendants. These would make a big necklace! Although I did have a teacher in high school who wore some interesting necklaces lol.

If you could blow through a vacuum sized tube perfectly above the circle it would probably give you a balloon like burst.💥 There’s another pour artist on here that pushes a small, long balloon into the paint she calls a balloon kiss. It would probably finish the look by moving the pain in the center of the circle. But yes, I’d love to see circles played with. I like the symmetry it has. Almost like controlled chaos of color. You do beautiful work.

Looks gorgeous my suggestion for this design is to try using a light green blue or blue green for the bottom coat of resin. Love the look with the bubbles mixed in the shaker ball springs. As always thanks for sharing awesome content that is fun enjoyable and entertaining to watch.

I think the turtle turned out just fine and I'm sure you're right that somehow the metal and resin have some sort of reaction together but i think in this case it worked well.

Hi Julie, I wonder if the heat from the resin curing and the metal getting hot caused the reaction. The extra heat being concentrated on the metal surface, sort of flash cured the nearby resin. I really like the look. ❤
@debbykirchhevel54413 күн бұрын
I saw another person who filled the resin with sand or crushed agate or something like that to make the resin go further and adds sparkle to the piece. It was pretty amazing.

I think the manufacturer coated the springs in some kind of spray of maybe resin of their brand to keep shape or keep the finish and when you put the springs in the turtle and added resin the coating on the springs being different and god knows what created a chemical reaction and created a flash cure with your resin. Just an educated guess and observation. I hope this helps.
