Hahahaha yea my van is organized in the video. Man i hate it when my van is a mess. I step on things and break stuff while crawling around trying to get to other things. Then that really pisses me off. LOL thanks for watching, I appreciate the compliment.

It will not work like it did before???? Nothing works like it did before. Not sure if i understand your comment. Micro channel has been around for years in refrigeration condensers. At least 15 years back heat craft has been using micro channel style condenser coils. To be honest i never seen one of there condenser coils leak.

I have changed a bunch on tube and fin condenser coils over the years. I agree micro channel coils suck. But actually they are more efficient and hold less refrigerant. Less refrigerant has its pros and cons. But it comes down to the quality of the coil when its made. The cheaper ones are shit. But i cant agree that micro channel coils will be leaving the a/c world. The manufactures will make them better.

$2,700 + $400 freight for a 36"X52" micro channel condenser coil which is one of two circuits straight replacement 6.5 Ton York Predator gaspack ZH078 series, unit its 11 yrs old but its in good shape top of the line, if I can save money $3,100 I would. Now waiting for manufacturer in Gardena, CA. that assures 42% savings on the OEM part that'll bring the price down to $1,566 not including tax 28 days lead, or go for 3-5 days expediate and pay more. This is a good fix thank you.

I tried to solder mine with MAPP gas at high setting but it just wouldn't get hot enough. Even tried to melt the channel but no way! Not sure if mine was an alloy. Used the AL822 but failed grrrr.

Why simulate it looks like that coil already had a bad leak oil wet spot
@20antman
@20antman 6 жыл бұрын
Actually that coil was from a 15 ton condenser coil. I cut out that section with a saw zall to demonstrate the brazing rod thing. That right side of the coil is oily because i ran the saw zall down that right side. Also if you notice the oily side of the coil has no header pipe ( big pipe at the end) this is because originally that is not the end of the coil. If my explanation is not clear. You can google search micro channel coils/ images then see how a completed coil looks. Thanks for watching. Hope the explanation was clear.

Will this work on a car radiator? and where can i buy the rod?
@20antman
@20antman 5 жыл бұрын
I actually repaired a leak in my radiator about 2 years ago. It held. I’ll be honest. It was not that easy. I am pretty good with the torch and took me a bit to get it done. I think the quality of aluminum is less in the car radiators. It melts pretty easy. The rod can be bought online or at most HVAC supply stores.

@@20antman - Adding to what you already said. Car radiator/condenser usually as the issue of dirt, a lot of it! Something that surely doesn't help any repair process.

Just replace the coil screw all this
@20antman
@20antman 6 жыл бұрын
That is another way to look at it for sure. For me it all depends on the situation. Most big commercial coils will need to be ordered from the factory. Your looking at 1-2 weeks wait time. You gotta get the unit back running some how.
