I can't believe how expensive these engines have gotten in the last 20 yrs. Back in 2003, I paid $4,500 shipped to my house for my "D Series" engine off ebay. Good luck buying the same thing for less than 20k.

YES! I've been waiting for you to add a 4th rotor! More displacement will make it easier to drive. On cost, in most things I've looked at, and factoring in the exchange to the Aussie dollar, going billet isn't that much more money than finding a real 20B anymore.

Sad to hear about the hybrid video data, you all ready know I'm waiting on bated breath for some heat soaked dyno data on how a quality street port/maybe half bridge does under the curve for my AE86 build 😉 My burrs and cartridge rolls are all a-quiver, cold and wanting, but I dare not let them loose on my side plates... yet 🤣

I'm always fascinated with rotary engine builds, everybody has their own take on porting, I love the brap note but realise that bridgeporting is for much higher rpm, not much use on a daily in traffic. This 1 has street ported primary and secondary, is there any gain in having a 1/2 bridge secondary and elongated port so combination street/bridgeport secondary , (aware that the side seal is the primary concern)? The secondary port is for plus 4000 rpm (is that correct) so a streetport primary, would provide a smooth lower rpm ride for around town. I am also fascinated with the hybrid motor and wonder how it would perform with a supercharger, my understanding is that approach has less lb boost than turbo and therefore possibly less strain on the renesis components providing more torque at lower rpm, whilst gaining from the improved exhaust flow. Any thoughts on that? I am in the process of refreshing my rx8 and I am contemplating the hybrid/supercharged method . Thank you for any knowledge in this area.

I wouldn't keep paying for rare cast plates. Just get billet especially if you're a race team its on the business cost 🤷♂

Exactly! My 20b center plate has a couple of broken coolant wall passages, so I'll just buy that Billiet Pro center plate to replace it in the future.
