In Miami I just built My container house out of seven shipping containers! For a total square footage of 3,867 square ft, three floor house to get a glimpse of the beach! Build process took six months. Me building with containers saved me roughly 42 percent than I would if I framed the house out of all sticks, compared to a similar house in Daytona Beach which was all stick built but the Build process was 9 months than my container Build process which was six months! Overall I like my choice of building with containers because it offers uniqueness and a tab bit cheaper than stick built.

Man...been following you since day 1 because I'm a huge fan of container structures. I gotta say dude, I think you hit it home with this one. The floorplan is perfect. Lots of living area, very nice bathroom, those front doors! , lots of light without holes cut for windows, and laundry hookups?! Where do I sign up? haha Seriously though, coming from a fan and super picky person, WELL DONE!

I absolutely agree I am a SUPER picky and extremely minimal type person who needs big windows (for my cat lol) I was gonna get an RV/camper, but most have like one or two small windows with chunky furniture I don't even want. I just need a blank canvas! These are spectacular!!

Hi Blake, very interesting videos on KZbin about building container homes. How long does it take for you and your partner (including some subcontracting for electricity and plumbing) to create a habitable 40FT container house?

Roughly 8-12 weeks depending on any material backups, etc.

How do you deal with condensation on the container walls? I've been watching some of your videos and noticed that you don't use spray foam, but use what appears to be a closed cell insulation board. How do you keep water vapor from leaking past to the corrugated metal and condensing?

Love the design and I’m going to diy mine this summer. I feel a little claustrophobic with only one egress and the metal doors could lock someone in pretty easy. I’m thinking of putting a nice size window in the bathroom which is also good for venting.

No vent for the dryer? Where’s the drain line for the washer?
@ContainingLuxury3 жыл бұрын
All in one washer drawer units don’t use a dryer vent, that is also a washing machine box in the wall, so it has both supply lines and drain line recessed into the wall

thought the exact same thing, feels like a waiting room. The whole thing feels like a temporary medical diagnostics facility, like one of those mobile breast cancer screener RVs. Overall I like this idea and I think it's cool, but at the end of the day it seems like a novelty.

It just be cheaper, quicker and environmentally better to build from starch with wood then these shipping contain refits. Tiny homes are great just not with containers, to many compromises to space /layout and moisture If youre still doing them id suggest stopping. people have caught on to the gimmick/ scam in some cases. Build smarter not harder
