I was driving around and noticed this Overgrown Lawn that was at least 15 to 20FT tall in spots so I knocked on the door to see if I could mow it for FREE. This Single Mom was so excited and thankful, she was in tears. Once I got into here I realized it was going to take weeks to get this under control but I knew I had to do it for her. You won’t believe how thick this grass was but more importantly you won’t believe what I found buried throughout this yard!

I was a single mom and people make me sick using that as an excuse to be nasty. I kept my grass cut and my yard clean so my children could have a safe place to live and play. It can be done with genuine effort.

I know it's hard to be a single parent & all parents handle their children differently, but for me being a single Mom ... I would get my kids to help clean & keep the yard tidy. Also I wouldn't expect my neighbors to help, I would cut the yard myself & again get my kids to help with raking or putting branches in one spot. I wouldn't keep my kids too long in the sun or work them too much, but kids can learn how to do things. I won't be here forever. Good job on the yard. I know how hard it is coming from groundskeeper myself.

It's not the neighbors responsible. If you are on a large piece of property you have got to have a plan in place. I know things come up but hopefully after this reset she can get someone in there to at lease keep up the area close to the house.

I agree with an earlier comment that this property is way too big for her to care for. Not her fault. The best thing that could be done for her is help to get her mower working again. This was a massive job for you and no one can say that you didn’t do your best. 👏👏

I also believe this yard is way too big for her with being a single mom. If she owns the house and is willing to rent out the land to farmers in exchange for upkeep around her house and a fee, that might work for her. But we don't know if she owns the house.

I would say she has never done the yard since she lived here. I know people are busy and a single Mom has lots to do but she needs to save her money and either hire a lawn person or a lawn mower and keep this yard up. Every other weekend she could cut for a couple of hours. She can keep the trash picked up too. Get the kids involved to help. This was something else for you to cut. You always do a good job and Bless people with your kindness but I just don't want people taking advantage of your kindness. If I lived near you I would try to help you when I could. Bless you.

Not sure how old this video is but it’s my first time viewing it. Now that’s a lot of property for 1 person. . You asked if we thought she’d keep it up and the answer is no. It seems everybody who could have done better speaks of owing a mower. Didn’t see a sign of one. If you can not keep it up ask for help from friends and family members. I’m sure they would assist. This is definitely more than a years worth of growth. Glad you mention that after the second cut, you wouldn’t be back. Hopefully she’ll try and do better. Wonder if she’s just renting. You did a fabulous job as best anyone could. Dang sure better than what it originally was.

You need that tractor with the mulcher on it for those bushes. I wouldn’t trim them as her mower and whatnot is broke and she isn’t able to do anything with it. You also need one of those weed eaters on wheels and you can get those tough weeds down. That’s a cute bush design Erik but there are so many weeds inside it you might as well chop it down. It will grow back.

I could be wrong but many of those weeds or plants look like sassafras, if so the leaves are dried and ground and used to make file which is a powder used to thicken gumbo. Word!!

This is the kind of yard you have to cut twice. Once to knock it down then again in a few days after the cutting have dried and the things that have laid over stand back up. But it looks like you will go over it enough times to do it in one cutting. Thank you.

I wasn’t a single Mum but y husband traveled a LOT for work (overseas) my children wouldn’t help me so I kept the lawns cut, worked full time and did everything else. No help! Wow big job I woukd have used the tractor with a slasher on the long grass Hard work for the weed whacker I have one and a brush cutter with a blade I have a big yard too was away helping a relative this summer for about 2mths and my grass was like this grew like mad so doesn't take long in a good growing season
