The L series and the R cabs were the best cabs ever built by Mack. All the rest were either junk or too small for a 6 foot 200 pound driver. BTW, the pinstriping that is on those trucks is amazing. Out here in the PAC NW, most trucks are just functional with very little "dress up."

Woah! @29:48 -- Kevin! I remember you -- you drove the F250 fuel truck around 1977 or so. I was about twelve years old and at the time, FMC had a beautiful Autocar with a 318 Detroit that used to scream 'round Sudbury. I was lucky enough to enjoy plenty of rides in that truck back then -- I wound up working for Frank as his flunky/sidekick and to me, he absolutely had a heart of gold (Jeff, Bruce, Donny, MaryAnn -- they all had hearts of gold!) -- Thanks for reminding me of those precious memories!

Hi, Mike. My first full time truck driving job was an ‘89 R model Mack tri-axle dump. 300 with a 7 speed. I loved that truck. Within 2 years I was in an ‘85 W900 tractor, 425 Cat, 13 speed, pulling a 45’ Transcraft Eagle flatbed. Bounced around running Petes, KW’s, and Western Stars pulling dump trailers, flat beds, intermodals, refers, and vans for a few years. Full time career fireman for over 16 years now. Sometimes I miss trucking and I’ll always have a place I’m my heart for the R model. Thanks for your videos, brother.

Thanks Mike, enjoyed the trip to the past. Used to go by Red Enright's Wellesley Trucking barn In Wellesley where the truck were washed daily, year round. Red did not send a dirty truck to a job. He established the standard for trucks that looked professional, and ran reliably. This was the mid 50's and I remember a B81,. LF, B61 and a Ford 10 wheeler, all with red chassis, black body, and block striped and pinstriped. The show you videoed brought back thos great memories.

@@brianburns7211 same in NY, NJ & PA back in the day! They owned the field in construction, refuse and firefighting equipment. Pretty much anywhere every dump truck, mixer, garbage truck or fire truck was a Mack! I grew up on Mack reign. I love them!

Starting when I was 5 in 1960 my Grandfather would take me on produce hauling adventures from Sebastopol in Northern California down into the central valley Bakersfield etc for as much watermelon as a 5 year old fart could possibly eat lol. Brand new fire engine RED, FORD COE 650 with about a 40 foot box. That was a special time...

Great video Mike, I grew up in Providence on Federal Hill I lived on a main street called Broadway in The summer I used to sit on my front steps and whenever a semi came by I would give him the arm pump and he would give the horn a blast, they were always cab overs I always wanted to ride in one but i never got a chance but I was satisfied just seeing them..Ah that was back in 1971 the good old days Love your channel Mike I look forward to your videos.
