“Intza“, means “mornin mist” (Rocío in spanish). And, you’re right, a colloquial way of calling is “Esti”, for the women called Estibaliz. Here, in Gipuzkoa, there are a lot of them.

My friend Nekane's niece is Estibaliz, and they call her Estitxu (the "txu" is like a "y" added to English names, or so I've been told). And a friend's daughter is Jone (like Jane or Juana).

-Txu is a diminutive, yes. Actually if you add it is like “little ___” argitxu = little light. And Estibaliz goes by Esti also in the Basque Country.

What is the website you mentioned? I've been tryijg since I have memory to figure out feom which province did my dad's family come from and I cannot find it anywhere. I know where my mother's side came from, it's a very common last name: Etchebarne. But Bertua it's impossible to find. If you have any ideas of where I can start looking it would be amazing. I noticed a bunch of x z t in the names. As a Mexican American I thought Mexican names with those letters were of indigenous origin. Now I’m wondering is they go back to Spain. Names such Ximena, Xitlali, Itzel, and Xamara.

Actually the patreon saint of Gipuzkoa is Arantzazu/Arantxa. And Saioa I think it's a mountain in Nafarroa

I didn't read your comment before I wrote mine. Yes, you are right. Arantzazu is the patron of Gipuzkoa, that is why the sanctuary is so special and was built with help from people like Oteiza. Saioa is a mountain in the Baztan area in Navarre.
