You can take used dryer sheets and lightly saturate them with your favorite detergent and let them dry out. Then place them in a small zip lock-not considered a liquid, saves liquid and weight and you have the detergent you prefer to use whenever needed. Facial cleanser and astringents can be put in cotton balls as can makeup remover and in marked zip locks-no longer considered a liquid. I even put fabric softener sheets into empty spray bottles and fill with hot water when onboard=wrinkle release spray. Toss when finished. Tossing all those used/partially used travel size containers and near expiration liquids leaves room for smaller souvenirs and purchases.

We bring magnetic hooks, but not for hanging stuff on the walls - just don’t like the look of that. We attach the hooks to the ceiling and hang a shower hook to separate the sleeping area from the sofa area on ships that don’t have a curtain there. This creates 2 sleeping/napping areas and also 2 dressing areas. This comes in handy since we're friends that travel together, not a couple.

@vcjtx I brought an adult grandchild on Celebrity Apex to Europe last summer. Had magnets & lightweight shower curtain to hang between the beds for a little privacy. USB Charger: The one shown in this video implies you should get one that can work in the 230V Type F receptables in the cabin. Don't. The cabin steward uses that recepticle for the vacuum cleaner. By all means, get a European one for use elsewhere on the ship since 120V outlets outside the cabin are rare. (The only one I saw on the Oasis was by NextCruise.) If you get a generic AC travel adapter, make sure whatever you plug into it isn't going to go boom. Make sure it supports 120/240V and 50/60Hz. Most laptop power supplies and USB chargers do. White noise machine: There are plenty of white noise apps available for your phone and/or tablet. The volume through the phone/tablet speaker is quite loud, so it ought to be sufficient, but go an test it before your trip. An alternative would be to find a 10-hour white noise youtube video. You can also find rain and other sounds.

I vote for no hamper, shoe bag or cosmetics bag. You shouldn't bring that much stuff and you can use baggies. The bathrooms have plenty of room. You're on vaca and it's a time to chill out. Dress down and simplify hair and makeup. Wash clothes in the sink or shower and rewear. Travel size toiletries, and throw them out at the end of the trip. I put creams in small zip lock bags. Wet colognes on cotton and put in small zip locks. We use only a carry-on/or backpack for everything (even to Alaska). We are minimalists when traveling and never missed having anything and traveling around is SIMPLE. I'll be adding the insulated coffee cup in the future.

I cant live without my travel adapter that provides an extra outlet and 4 usbs and my portable charging bank. I dont bring liquid soap but soap sheets and those little towel coins that expand are great for port days in the event the bathrooms have no soap and you need to clean up. I bring my scentsy car freshners, one for the toilet & other just to give my cabin a fresher smell in general. I do bring cleaning disinfectant wipes and my small microban spray. I do a clean up before unpacking and every few days just to make sure everything is disinfected as I go. I bring my own toiletries but use the shampoo/conditioner for any small garments that I want to wash and hang, that keeps me from having to bring anything. If it is supposed to be good enough for my body/hair, it is good for my delicates. I like my eye mask and ear plugs on the days I want to sleep in. Slippers, even though I spray the carpet with my disinfectant, I still use my slippers.

I use a travel washing line as the last two cabins on Anthem we were in, had no line, so that was handy. Poop Spray for the nasty odours, carabiners, towel clips. I have a small bag of bits i use specifically for cruises so everything we need was there. I found the shoe organiser was cumbersome at best so I just kept everything in the said bag in a drawer as we don't always fill all the drawer space and we do always have a tube or two of Dr. Beckmann's travel wash for the smalls.

I think all of these are on my cruise-essentials list. About OTC meds, not only are they incredibly expensive on the ship, there are some you would expect to find in the shop but are only available through the ship's infirmary. I don't know if it's the case on all major cruise lines, but last year while on a transatlantic cruise, my husband was badly in need of some Niquil. We didn't have any, but I did have some packets of expired flu powder in our travel medical supplies. Before resorting to using them, we checked the ship's shops. We were told we could only obtain cold medicine from the infirmary. The infirmary charged 24.00 dollars, so we took our chances on the expired flu powder.

Bring a lanyard with the retractable pull out. They are expensive to buy on board. Never thought about bringing a fan. Good tip. We brought the allowed 12 packs of soda each. Didn't have to buy the soda pkg. The magnetic hooks didn't work on our last cruise. Kept slipping down the wall. We also brought towel clips for the loungers. The breeze can blow your towel around and you can clip you bathing suit to your balcony chair to dry without fear of it blowing away. Does anyone know if the white noise machine works to block a snoring partner?
@annbrosnan17 ай бұрын
Depending on what your hanging, you probably just need stronger magnetic hooks. I had to upgrade mine too. The lbs they claim are for a force pulling straight down (like from the ceiling), not from the side (like when hanging from the wall). Before investing in a white noise machine, try using a white noise app on your phone instead. I just upgraded to the towel bands, they take up less room. Then I bring a couple small clothes pins if I have a balcony or just use the clothes line inside the shower if not.
@SharonPerson-hm9ds6 ай бұрын
@hollypotter6989 When my husband & I took our first cruise in 2010 on Celebrity Millennium, I was so concerned that his snoring would keep me awake that I booked a cabin near the onboard library so that I would have a quiet place to go if it became unbearable. When discussing the issue with some friends a few months prior to our trip, they recommended a 'Pure Sleep' mouthguard, which we ordered on-line. The results were phenomenal; we both were able to get a good night's sleep! Might I suggest, though, a sleep study for the snoring partner? My husband did one and ended up with a CPAP machine (which he always traveled with). That does not count for carry-on restrictions and I bought a medical device luggage tag so the gate agents could easily identify it. A white noise machine would not help me to sleep, but the Pure Sleep mouthguard was an absolute life changer!

You can upload a photo you already have in your phone. My hubby was asleep, I used a pic I already had.

@@AccordingToRobin I did almost the same, took a photo of some extra passport photos and uploaded them.

Here's a list of 21 essential items I always pack for a cruise to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trip: 1. Passport and travel documents to make sure everything is up to date, including visas if necessary. 2. All prescribed medications, plus basic over-the-counter remedies for common ailments like headaches or allergies. 3. Sunscreen with a high SPF to protect against the strong sun. 4. Sunglasses, which are a must for those bright days on deck or during shore excursions. 5. A wide-brimmed hat for sun protection. 6. Comfortable footwear, including walking shoes for excursions and flip-flops for the pool or beach. 7. Formal attire for those cruises that have formal dining nights. 8. Swimwear for the pool, hot tubs, and any beach stops. 9. A beach towel, although some cruise lines provide these, it’s always good to check first. 10. A day bag to carry essentials like sunscreen and a camera on excursions. 11. A waterproof phone case to protect my phone from water when I’m near the pool or on beach outings. 12. A camera to capture all those memorable moments, although sometimes I just use my smartphone. 13. Travel adapters and chargers for all my electronic devices. 14. A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic use. 15. A light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings or windy days on deck. 16. Toiletries, including toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant. 17. A small first aid kit with bandages, antiseptic wipes, and seasickness remedies. 18. Seasickness bands or medication, just in case, especially since I'm prone to motion sickness. 19. Books or an e-reader for relaxing on deck or in my cabin. 20. Light snacks for those times between meals or for when I'm out on an excursion. 21. Earplugs and an eye mask, which are essential for sleeping in potentially noisy environments or if there's light in my cabin at night. Packing these items helps me cover all the basics and ensures I’m prepared for various activities and weather conditions.

Wow, I just got back from a cruise and I also had every one ☝🏼 of these things you listed. Very practical. I also had a hands-free neck fan that was wonderful on hot excursion buses and walking tours.

21 essentials....... I probably use about 4 or 5 of the things on this list, evrything else is a waste(imo) or for older people
@SharonPerson-hm9ds6 ай бұрын
Not sure what qualifies as 'older' but I'm 65+ and pack at least 12 of the 21 items, including over the counter meds in a stackable pill case, packing cubes, shampoo & conditioner, wrinkle release spray, & zip lock bags. Takes up very little room, but invaluable to have.
@37wall816 ай бұрын
@@SharonPerson-hm9ds not sure if youre posting just to agree with what i said. 65+ qualifies as older. 12 out of 21 is about half, you're older and use more of these items. im way younger than 65 and im using about 4/5 of these. so you're proving my point like i already said, most of these are for older people 👍
