If we’re being honest, most of us feel incapable of living the counter-cultural, against the flow, kind of life Jesus calls us to. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Over these next 21 days, Gene encourages us to join him in praying one simple prayer in the midst of these days that can feel so dark and divisive.

You can be the light by a phone call to anyone and say: CAN I PRAY FOR YOU TODAY. And stop! And pray with them! Because if somebody’s going through some thing they need someone to help carry them through it. So don’t say oh I’ll pray for you or I’ll put you down in my prayer book or anything like that just stop what you’re doing and pray no matter where you’re at if you’re at the gas station don’t worry about what the person behind you thinks .if you are at target, don’t worry about what the person in line thinks. Just pray for them moment at that second. NEVER BE ASHAMED OR EMBARRASSED.
