Heading into my 2nd year in 2 months, and I can't see offline classes being held until at least mid-way through the academic year. Honestly try a break from the greater world; you're so exposed to everything going on in the world due to technology & as well as the usual teenage anxieties it has really caused a huge spike in anxiety in young girls. Focus on what makes you happy- Do the cheesy movie stuff- even just a face routine, candles & a movie to give yourself time to be in the moment can really make a difference, even if it's just short term (:

Posiblemente solo haya negatividad cerca tuyo.

University is not the best years of your life. Every year is what you make of it, and don’t put so much pressure on yourself to enjoy school life to the fullest. I hate when they talk about *insert period of life here* as if it’s supposed to be the best time of your life. University life is dull compared to where I’m at now, married to the love of my life and talking about building our dream home. I’m happier now than I ever was in high school or college.

Ali's advice: (random order) 1. Ask for forgiveness, not permission (just do it!) 2. Ask yourself: am I still playing the game I wanted to play 3. Journey before destination (enjoy the friendship) 4. No one is judging you 5. Think about what you can control and not things outside of your control 7. Don't be mean to others 8. Keep your "door" open 9. Take more photos for memory 10. Don't overestimate the difficulty of something - the worst enemy is the fear itself 11. Learn how to study efficiently 12. Passive income (making money while gaining experience) 13. Buy some bitcoins and don't sell them [questionable advice] 14. Be the "connector" 15. It's okay to fall behind during term time 16. It's okay to not go to lectures 17. See exams/tests as a collective enemy for you and your friends, do not "fight" alone 18. Expose yourself more to others 19. Internalisation > inputs (converting something you read to a part of yourself) My advice: 1. Be happy 2. Step outside of your comfort zone 3. nourish yourself with God's words

@@sentrazyven762 I’m 19 and about to enter my second semester of sophomore year. I still haven’t figured it out bro. I have no friends. When I see Ali mention that these are supposed to be the best years of your life I wonder what I’m doing wrong because I’m not an introverted person. UPDATE: (2/10/2022) I really put myself out there and I managed to find 3 friends through this business frat. I literally didn’t wanna go but because my major requires that I network I actually got to find some hobbies with these people and we got lunch from there and really had a lot in common. One piece of advice is to look for areas where people share your interests (Like a running club if you like track, or a music group if you’re passionate about singing) because you’ll be more likely to find actual people who seem more down to earth than the people you pass by at school from class to class. Also I thinking pushing myself out of my comfort zone helped a bunch. I’m going to go to a party tonight and I’m actually pretty excited to meet more people. Good luck to everyone who hasn’t had the opportunity or felt like they are alone, I know what it feels like and you can get through it with some effort! :)

Reading this makes me realize how much harder it's become to make TRUE friends and connections. I'm over 10 years out of college, but that's where I made my life long friends -- friends that are still in my life today. I have 2 friends that I keep in real contact from middle school into high school and til now i.e. not just through Facebook. The most solid advise I can give to making friends is to not be afraid to just talk randomly to anyone about anything, especially those you share classes. Also, don't be afraid of rejection. You're not going to like everyone and not everyone will like you. And it is okay to not continue a friendship with someone if they turn out to be toxic. The goal is to find people who enhance your life, not who detract from it. Hugs!

Doing a lot of these things made me feel so much better about myself within the past year. I’ll be going into my first year of high school this fall and I’m absolutely terrified, but I’m sure I’ll find my way to enjoy it. Just being me and actually talking to people during and after classes has heavily helped me get more confident. I’ve made so many people laugh with just the normal things I think and say and every time I think to myself, “why wasn’t I like this sooner in my life?” I wear what I want, I listen to what I want, and I express the interests I want to express. Yeah, some of it is embarrassing, but I think it’s just the middle school ‘I need people to like me’ mindset, who cares about what I read, I’m just enjoying it. I describe myself as someone who a lot of people know but not a lot of people really talk to me. I have a decently noticeable stutter and I used to hate speaking because of it, but now I’m doing skits in class and being the most confident in my group. It’s never too early or too late to be yourself.

"God grant me strength to accept things which i can not control , the courage to change what i can, and wisdom to know difference" Very true, there are so many things we can control and work toward it and there are huge number of things which we can't, but majority among us worry about what we can't. That line is pure wisdom.

Such a profound video, I'm so sending it to the younger people around me. I'm 2 yrs younger than Ali and all of those points he mentioned became one of my regrets at some point of my early 20s. I can't stress enough the importance of basic elements to our life: Good posture, breathing exercises and paying attention to fitness definitely pays back in your 20s and 30s and so on. Both physical and mental health is important but if someone's feeling miserable of every aspect in their live, physical wellness is the correct place to start over as stated in "Lockdown: Spaceship You". It is a masterpiece by CGP Grey and I suggest the viewers of this channel to watch that video as well

when he said 'peole are nice, people are friendly', it really hit me. maybe beause i always worry too much, about whether they forgave me for that little thing i've done like, a year ago or so. for the past 5 years i've been living under the impression that all people are mean (including myself) and nothing good will come out of hanging out with them. i've realized that i've been playing single-player for so long i forgot how to socialize properly and i've become afraid to ask for help when i desperately need it. it's very hard to get rid of that way of thinking, so i really have to work on it. thank you for these tips, i'll try to take some advice.

Watching this video makes me want to go to college even when i'm done with it just to keep myself happy (cuz these have been, and i'll admit, the happiest years of my life yet) and the thought of staying in your childhood and staying young and making new friends in school sounds like the perfect life to me. If studying a lot is what it takes to keep it, then so be it. besides when im done with college hopefully, passing the school years wont be something that i have to worry about so that's even better.

There are a lot of good points in this. However, I’m not in university. I’m 18 and I decided to work full time this year, and if I do go to college it’ll be at my local community college. So, the constant discussion of how great university is and how to “hack” it, isn’t helpful for a lot of people that aren’t interested in school.

Exactly, no point stressing over the things where you can't influence the outcome 🙌🏾

Agree!! Believing in fate as a Muslim surely relaxes so much
@Yusuf-zm4gn3 жыл бұрын
@eu en you're absolutely right about that but I think OP is referring to things in life where we as individuals can't do too much to influence the outcome. To get good academic results, like you say, one must put in the effort to study because that's a variable that we can control and should control. Not studying and leaving it all up to the powers of prayer....you're only kidding yourself in that situation :) I often times here Muslim folk use the cop out 'if it was written for me then it is bound to happen' and this way they sell themselves short by refusing to do the absolute minimum to influence the outcome! We try our absolute best and the rest is in God's control 🙌🏾
@Muslimah6546-z2c3 жыл бұрын
@eu en right but AFTER you study and give your best, its not necessary that you'll get, for example, your favorite college!! In that case, being a Muslim and believing that Allah has planned something better for me than this college; helps alot😊

You’re right about the mere exposure just by going to different events instead of staying home. One Saturday night, I debated on going to a comedy show held by our own students, or stay in the dorm and watch Netflix, but I decided to go. A few days later, I had to take the bus to get to the airport, and when I got on, all of the seats were full except for one in the very back. Lo and behold, it was the host from the comedy show that I sat next to. We talked for the next hour until our stop came, then exchanged information and parted ways. If I hadn’t gone to that show, I wouldn’t have stricken luck and been able to make the connection that day. I’m thankful for that.

ive seen so many comments saying how ppl wished that they lived smarter lives and stuff during their teen years but like honestly no one should sweat this stuff as a teen. its 100% okay if you "waste" your teenage years. being a teenager is an incredibly awkward and difficult time of anyones life (except for ~those~ bishes who peaked in high school) and so sitting on your ass sometimes and not knowing where youre going with your life is COMPLETELY okay and normal during your teen years. basically life after high school is never the straight path that you think it will be and sometimes its actually more beneficial to just follow your interests and see where you end up so DONT STRESS THE FUTURE IF YOURE STILL IN HS DUDE youre gonna be fine :))
