As a psychotherapist, I must add that the root cause of all the addictions is dopamine addiction but that can be replaced by getting dopamine by doing good things too. Breaking away from the distractions and bad habits allowed me to reconnect with my thoughts, engage in meaningful activities, and cultivate a sense of discipline I never knew I had. These 7 days were certainly not easy, but the sense of accomplishment I feel now is incredible. I can confidently say that this experience has ignited a positive change in my life, and I am committed to continuing this journey of self-improvement. Some of the best ideas/thoughts always pop up in your mind when trying to fall asleep, walking alone, having a shower etc (i.e. moments when your brain is not busy and thoughts can flow freely). This has always been the case. Every single trader always used to manipulate human's emotions to sell their product. A shoe salesman and a hair stylist will manipulate your ego into getting their fancy shoes or getting some weird hairdo, a butcher and a baker will sell their products by telling you how delicious they are and what meals you could prepare with it etc. This is not something new. It is not a company's job to take care of you. They are only there to provide you with a product you may want. Stop blaming everyone around you and be responsible.

I get the general idea that having too much dopamine can be bad for you because it can cause addictions but then why not just do everything in moderation? I love soda I love juice but I've been drinking lots of water. I've been trying to limit my videogame time to only a couple hours a day and a few days a week I use social media very minimally (except discord and KZbin but I'm working on that) I watch little TV or Movies the only thing that's left is working on cutting out more junk food out of my diet in favor of more balanced meals. I don't think going on a detox is a bad idea it just seems a little unnecessary to cut it all out especially when it's gonna make you go into withdrawal

I went to prison a couple of years ago (driving offence), and even though it felt like the longest 4.5 months of my life, by the end I was (mentally) feeling fantastic, i had grown to enjoy things that I never had before, like reading the newspaper, or talking on the phone to freinds/family and reading a lot more and i felt much more fulfilled. Probably only took about a week of being out to revert back to living what feels like an entirely meaningless life, constantly flicking between assorted social media apps just looking for something to make me feel a bit happier. Im not saying I want to go back to prison, but I would do anything to have the ability to exist without a smartphone or computer around me again

Actually you have the ability to live without these things. Of course it's not easy in our modern society, but there are a lot of human beings that cut themselves out of this connected world. Don't use social media, don't use a smartphone (buy a cheap Nokia etc only for doing phone calls and maybe SMS), buy everything local, not over a laptop on Amazon, check the news in the newspaper etc etc. So basically a similar kind of living like you had in prison. It is definitely possible and I know a person who is living pretty good without any outer distractions like the internet and so on. Just go for it. Best of luck bro 🤘

There is a problem with this premise. Dopamine is not bad for you. Dopamine reinforces your memories and habits. It allows us to to recall the sensation of a pleasurable thing like eating chocolate. Even just imagining the taste of chocolate will send signals in your brain. Like making you hungry and salivate. But Dopamine isn't bad itself and a "dopamine detox" isn't really a thing. Taking a break from junk food, social media, and stuff is good, but it is important to replace it with healthier habits to provide stimulation like working out and hanging out with friends. Basically the important thing to remember is that Dopamine doesn't give you pleasure, it just reminds you of pleasurable things and helps you form a habit of it. So you can choose what you make a habit of. If you eat chocolate everyday you will start to crave chocolate, but if you workout everyday you will start to crave working out.

One crucial tip for everyone : when watching videos like this make sure to take a note while watching it. Otherwise you will forget it completely and lose that motivation you had after some hours. Ok, so I read a lot of comments sayn that it's much more easier if you're rich like this guy and I thought so firstly. But then I realized that even if I would have his life that doesn't mean I would do this challenge properly. It's just a way of excusing and not doing the job to just say "If only I were rich...". Plus you know, when you're rich, temptations and addictions are more close to you, so in some cases it might be even harder to detox. So stop searching for excuses and start detoxing (no matter how many days you keep going, it's more important that you tried at least). And I have to say : that's a message I wrote for myself, firstly, but you're welcome too
@turtles82293 жыл бұрын

@justnotme68863 жыл бұрын
@@turtles8229 I kinda understand your point of view, but what I've realized is that this challenge is not about having great places to escape (even though it makes the challenge easier), but to avoid bad habits. I mean, I may have those nice places, but that does not mean that when I come back home I won't feel like going back to old habits and vices. Of course those places make it easier, but you're the one that's fighting your habits, those places won't fight your vices. And about lockdown, you can call your friends and talk with em, just like this guy did or idk, exercise, practice meditation, read an interesting book, learn how to cook, draw, learn something new etc. I mean if you really want that, you'll find some sort of activities to do. But if you don't, then you'll remain on that mindset of : "I don't have great places where to go, or dogs, water pool etc" and you ll continue to stay in your comfort zone. And again, that's a message for me, firstly, but as I said, you're welcome too

Wow. I wasn’t expecting such a great composure of artistic and beautiful cinematography, on my phone screen at 3:40 am... I am currently 16 turning 17 years old, and I have no job, no sense of responsibility and no discipline. The past year and a half has turned my life in a dark and seemingly hopeless direction, with the world taking a blow from a global pandemic, ultimately affecting the livelihood of millions, no, billions of people including myself. My already weak and decaying relationship with friends, progressively diminishing, pushing me deeper into the abyss of social media and the other many toxic and negative habits. I hate myself and have little to no interests in the life I seem to fall further from. I often look back at my childhood, remembering how things were different, better I would say. Knowing nothing but happiness and excitement for each coming day, now, each day just seems like a repeat of the previous, stale, depressing and hopeless. I can’t even tell you why I’m deciding to comment this, why anyone would care, why anyone would even decide to read this. To be honest to myself and whoever might read this, I haven’t truly given myself the chance to tell anyone how I really feel, for almost 3 years now. It’s been killing me, my soul, my well being. I felt consumed by the effects of a depressed like state, I felt depressed, I’m almost certain I was and still am - depressed. It’s sucks, really. Here I am, on a broken record like schedule, on KZbin, drifting into the early morning, a slave to a toxic relationship with social media. It’s concerning. The words spoken by this person got through to me, what’s left, hiding in a deceiving shell, displaying to others even my closest of family, my parents, a fake image of a kid who’s just “fine” and getting alone. But drowning inside. In all seriousness, I feel upset and angry about the effects social media and any form of toxic, zombifying entertainment, has had on me through adolescence. I wish it could have been different for me. Watching this had nothing more than a positive effect on me, tonight, at 4 am. It woke me up to the greater reality of things. The better side of what life should be. The concept of instant gratification and dopamine shown clearer to me now. This beautiful piece of cinematography has brought me a break from the prison my soul feels trapped in. You’ve presented in your video what a sense of control over your life can look like, what it should for everyone alive today. No one should have to feel the way I do, overwhelmed with the hopelessness that many toxic habits and relationships with everyday choices bring upon me. I want to thank you sincerely for creating this bright and positive video, which stands away from the rest of the bullshit that floods the internet. This was very inspiring to me and I’m already planning to undergo a dopamine detox myself, starting tomorrow... you’re work deserves more attention, I think you are heavily underrated. I wish the best for your future. Thank you

I think there are two aspects to sport - mental and physical. Silence helps you train the mental aspect, improving your psychological conditioning. Music boosts your mental aspect so you can push past it, thus pushing your body to its limits, if your mental aspect is weaker. This improves your physiology more than if you trained in silence (but at the expense of extra mental conditioning).

Exercising really helps, and it makes you feel much better. It is true it could be so hard and boring sometimes, but it's really rewarding. Last year I had almost 350 lbs in body weight, and felt so useless. One day I just started moving more, then slow running then I started doing weighted exercises and I was eating clean by following meal plans I got from Next Level Diet. Today I have 200 lbs and I am happy like I never been in my life, and ready to start living life to the fullest.

If only i got to live on a place like that, i'd voluntarily surrender everything i have right now. 'Cause i swear it's a different story when you're living in a noisy, crowded, shitty place. I believe no activity is more addicting than vlogging. Imagine living your life by turning it into a movie for others to watch. The excitement and the dopamine release when the video is a hit and the frustration/anxiety on dislikes, negative reviews . You are basically financially & emotionally dependant on views, likes and comments of what people say about you.
