Tyler wrote this for his youngest brother. I was one of the lucky few to see Jay his younger brother perform at the hometown show this past october. Tyler taught himself to play guitar during the pandemic and wrote this album during the same time. I think that's one reason why it's got a different vibe. I love this album. Can't wait to see more reactions.

Just before you posted Good Day, I was thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. I must have missed the update video you referred to. But I am glad to see you back on here. I am sorry you have had a rough go of it. Just keep swimming, right? Merry Christmas to you and yours! Also, Tyler taught himself how to play the guitar during lockdown. This is a song for his brother telling him to go out and follow his dream of a music career.

Manifest a ceiling you create your own limits you limit yourself when you Shy away leave your skin on the floor I think he means leaving the old you behind leave your mistakes behind don't circle the track break the cycle in half like don't repeat your mistakes again and again basically running in circles because you're too scared to reach (manifest a ceiling) I dunno that's my interpretation at least. God bless you I'm so excited to see you doing this I'm proud of you I'm so so proud of you. You're super super strong and continue to inspire me. 🙏❤️🙏

Never worry about over reaching with Tyler’s lyrics! You have to reach to get his metaphors! I think a ceiling is like a frame- they both are part of a box that limit how far a person can go or grow! I think the advice in this song is to bust out of those boxes so you can grow!

I was sooooo excited to learn that Tyler had taught himself guitar. It brings a whole new dimension to the songs. Regarding the drums, Josh actually did the engineering and recording of the drums completely on his own for many of the songs. I'm kinda obsessed with his sound on "Mulberry Street."😁 Tyler said that this song came about because his younger brother, Jay, asked him for advice on his songwriting process because he wants to be a professional musician as well. When Tyler says "manifest a ceiling when you shy away," I think he's telling his brother that he's going to have to put himself out there and do things that might be uncomfortable in order to succeed. If we decide to shy away from challenges, we limit ourselves, therefore putting a ceiling on our dreams and goals. When we truly face our fears, there's nothing holding us back. "don't circle the track, break the cycle in half," tells me that we can't expect better circumstances or accomplishments if we just keep doing the same thing every day. I think the line, "When I get home, boy you'd better not be there," is telling his brother that he doesn't want to get back from tour to find him sitting at home, because he should be working hard towards his dream of being a musician in his own right. I see it as a "tough love" sorta thing. Don't worry about reaching, btw. That's the best part of Tyler's lyrics- there's never an easy answer. You have to reach and search and we're meant to find our own meanings too. Ok, enough rambling from me. Happy holidays/merry Christmas/etc.!

"manifest a ceiling" like if you're confident the sky's the limit, but when you shy away you put a ceiling on your potential.

Tyler taught his little brother Jay how to make music and he created this song at the same time. Yeah, Tyler taught himself to play electric guitar in 2020 (with KZbin). And yeah, you were right about the pictures in the frames. Tyler said in an interview that this will be kinda two piece record, the second one already in the making when TOP released SAI. It starts with happy themes. (Tyler wanted something light because of the situation in the world, yet the same time it ties to the lore, that they are in Dema now and the joy & happiness is Dema propaganda...).

Tyler wrote this song for his youngest brother, Jay, he released an album recently and this song is kinda of an advice for him ? Sorry i cant explain it very well 😂

This is correct but to Matt its not his brother that was on stage. He was giving encouragement to his brother saying "leave your skin on the floor" telling him leave your old self behind don't shy away do what you are going after and i think he is saying that when you shy away you manifest a ceiling stopping you from where you want to go and you cant go up from there unless you stop shying away???? i hope this helped. plus i am not stating facts just my idea on what the song means but i did hove to know from someone else it was about his brother Jay Joseph

I think everyone has covered what the song is about but here’s my take - it’s an encouragement to go for your dreams, that by not trying you create a barrier (manifest a ceiling) that you will never get past. Encouragement to break that cycle of doubt in yourself to achieve your dreams & once you do that those old thoughts of doubt will become the old you (the pictures in the frames) that you have put aside (shed your skin) Jay Joseph music is available on KZbin if you want to check it out - it’s not bad actually 😁 Even if they are sporadic I look forward to your reactions as you really relate to tøps music but also because of how open you are talking about things. I feel this can only help others also. I love that by liking & commenting I can also give you support in some way ❤️

This album is "propaganda" from the bishops, Dema. I dont know how to explain it all but the sound is different, more upbeat because tyler didnt want to do an album that reflected the situation we were living through the pandemic, so he did the opposite, a happy sounding ? album
