a tip for anxiety, when you’re anxious talk to yourself and say “im excited” because turning anxiety into excitement is more easier than turning it into calmness because both have many things in common but you just flip from negative to positive. btw it works for me i even made my english presentation about it because i find it really helpful 😉
@Walicia

Lmao while I can see where you're coming from... I once went to the office after having a panic attack after arriving to class and I remember her face saying "Just try to think of it as excitement!" 🤨 I was like really..? 😂 It added to me feeling like I was broken the way she said it.

The part about children being appreciated for their hard work you can find in Carol Dweck's book about mindset. Growth mentality will tell you to always praise for persistance and hard work, while a fixed mentality compliments talent or smartness. Many people would be so much better off if they knew the power of the growth mentality. It changed my life for the better :).

It is actually a study which dweck did. There is a ted talk about it. In the study Dweck made two groups of children. For the first group she gave so many easy mathematical questions which they were able to do everytime. And for the 2nd group she gave a mix of both hard and easy questions. When the second group failed to do the questions, Dweck encouraged the kids that with hardwork and effort they would achieve it. When she gave the hard questions to the first group they failed constantly, telling her that they can only do the easy questions. This study actually shows about how the mindset could be grown with encouragement and hardwork. If u want to know more u can see her video.

you're my savior, there's a couple of things here (like the part a, part b bit) that I've been messing up with and the conclusion part about seeing stuff on internet and studies is super helpful for me bcz I've been feeling off with all the info the internet's been feeding me; honestly I should take a little break from the internet now I seriously need to organize my thoughts

The manipulation one is scary. I’d never heard of these things, yet at the age of nine I began to write a book. Just for fun, but eventually I thought it would be interesting to hint certain things to make my audience think certain things. I went further on and used this when I wanted my way with other children. Thankfully I’ve stopped, but it’s SO easy!!! The mind is very strange and wonderful.

girl the fact I learned some of these things from my intro psych classes this year, I honestly just thought of the terms (like self fulfilling phropecy and confirmation bias) as phenomenons that happened and didn't even think about applying them to my life like that woww

Yas loving this 👏👏👏 (ba in psych over here/I’m a teacher now) choices is also great for little kids. If they’re giving you a hard time let’s say about going to bed you can give them the choice. You can walk yourself to bed or I can carry you to bed. So same end result, but making them feel independent and like they actively made the choice. Oh I also wanted to add to the argument one, lower your voice and your physical stance. If you see the other person standing up and raising their voice, sit down and lower yours. They’ll most likely mimic your behavior. And this allows for better understanding as opposed to just yelling at each other
