It's narcissism.
@melissaharris34954 ай бұрын
@@blk_liesonly to an actual narcissist. Every relationship we have is (ideally) reciprocal in the sense that both individuals practice give and take of themselves and their perspective resources constantly. This is healthy, necessary even unless taken to extremes. All is currency in life. Give and take. The word currency does have a negative connotation attached. There is much overuse of the term narcissist as of late. It makes it harder to know the ‘genuine article’ when you meet them.

@@melissaharris3495 I don't need to be an alcoholic to act like one. I wonder what the audience is after when they seek a video full of labels like influence, control, power, gain desires and manifestations, manipulation of others, underlined with a handful of cash, attainuated by short takes of hollywood made-up ideals. Nothing wrong with all of this but what is the general aim here, given all of this condensed into one video? Some kind of modern brainwashing feminism comes very close to my estimation, not to mention the possibility of getting the book wrong. "all is currency in life" - quite objectifying, but only taken to extremes ofc

when the video talks about how being silent and not speaking as much can be good because you don't risk loss, I disagree on this part because rejection is something you should learn to face. If everyone is silent or even too afraid to talk first or be vulnerable with someone, you wont face rejection but instead be safe with the walls people put up. Rejection is something you should learn to take if you want good confidence. Let your walls down and be human with me
@obeyme75884 ай бұрын
I do not agree because actually oversharing can be very dangerous this is because we humans only know our thoughts and intentions but we dont actually know anyone elses so we rely on their words and actions to tell us whats in their head or what they’re true motives are. So when you overshare too much of your life not only are you giving too much of yourself away but people may misunderstand your intentions this is why we must think before we speak
@xxgachaflamexx6264 ай бұрын
@@obeyme7588 yes this part is true thinking before you speak, and oversharing can bad if you share the wrong things to the wrong people. Society is contradicting because you are expected to be yourself to build true connections with people by putting yourself out there, but at the same time not being too much of yourself or you can come across as weird. It can be risky and so i can see how you think. I feel that not being secretive doesn't necessarily being quiet, but filtering what you say and what you don't in a way that doesn't "overshare" our vulnerabilities but make our strengths shine.
@alice-yw8ji4 ай бұрын
this is not about not speaking up or being afraid of rejection. I think it's more of strategically shuting up so you can benefit from the situation. You are silent about your intentions so nobody can sabotage you and you can achieve your goals more easily without other people's intervention.

Oh, I kind of hate the first one... in my first job, I was pretty overlooked by my supervisiors, but I still took my time and did some effort to get knowledgable in the job. I was not the fastest so my numbers weren't best, but my knowledge was something the team I was part of could used very well, also networked to get more core info, most of people recognized that including my friend, but my boss didn't and he kept on playing favourites with my friend, denying me the oppurtunities even when I asked for them for him... I was not even trying to outshine the manager yet he lacked the human touch when communicating with those people I worked with, stood up for the wrong goals and overlooked something that could been put into a better use, I had a good skillset for my position but I could be better if I was allowed to be paid for doing my thing, but I wasn't beacause this person failed to recognize it. Made me feel like I was triggering something in him without trying. Sometimes thinking I should have tried harder to get what I wanted but if I was demanding it who knows if the manager wouldn't start seeing in worse.

@Yourgoodwitch I disagree, it's primarily manipulation tactics with only a little bit of actual good advice. For example, one of the "laws" is to do kind acts for others to get them to lower their guard, so that you can take advantage of them and they won't expect it. That's a d * ck move if you ask me. I do think it's a helpful book though, so that I'm not naive and I question EVERYONE'S motives.
