21 Savage on Drake hate & jealously towards him for being Drake's friend:
"What you feel like a man is if he jealous of how cool two other men are?... Like if somebody said 'I don't like how Stephen A. f*ck with Shannon Sharpe?"

Everyone applauding 21 for asking the question (as they should) but also much respect to Unc for not laughing at him or making him feel uncomfortable when asking that question. He just gave him the definition and then continued on with his question as to not highlight that 21 didn't know what a word meant.

I think Drake would do an interview with Shannon because he would let Drake curate the interview to his needs. Shannon wants the views he won’t be like Gille, Joe budden, or Drink champs who would probably ask him certain question that he don’t want to answer. Drake has respect for athletes and he probably watches Shannon and sees how he makes it a safe space on his podcast. I think he would do it.

People hate Drake because of his sustained success. It's the same reason they hate on Kevin Hart or Lebron James. At some point, their peers shared a stage with them and as time went on, they started performing on larger stages and their peers either remained stagnant or started performing on smaller stages. Instead of accountability they start hating and saying the booty bandits of Hollywood was working against them. Fans are the same way. When they heard Drake they were young and had ambitions as well. Drake continued success and their life didn't pan out the way they planned so they project onto anyone or anything that's successful. Drake just so happens to be a big target.

@@AttaManYou just replied to your own question. Kendrick simply is not as big as Drake commercially. @AttaMan

@@princebond I didn’t. Eminem, Wayne, and 50 Cent were not viewed as the epitome of commercialized safe hip hop for white suburbanites. Drake is a rich kid from television industry who makes extremely formulaic hip hop music. That is why he is hated. And Kendrick has been a premier name in hip hop for over a decade now. Drake represents a whitewashed version of hip hop; ironically even more than Eminem which is hilarious.

Hip hop isn’t a “genre”, rather it is a culture, with multiple art forms: break dancing, graffiti, djing, and mc-ing (aka Rap music). Many people within the CULTURE of hip hop who are Mcs don’t like Drake because frankly he doesn’t meat their cultural standards. We can debate about if that’s fair, but that’s just facts. Some people will never respect him, because he isn’t meeting those cultural standards. Also, frankly a lot of Drake’s music IS pop. He is a pop star, he makes pop music. He also makes R&B. He also raps. You can do multiple things as an artist dawg.

@osimiri7111 hip hop and rap are genres....within the genre, we annointed the art form as "culture" because of the aesthetics (vibe, dress code, etc.). Drake's dad was a jazz artist, which is another genre of music! Drake is hip-hop but makes pop music. His awards are in hip-hop, not pop. People hate on him because he's not gangsta! Shannon's ability to open 21's confidence in conversation and engagement in this interview is master class. I'm taking notes. 21 went from short answers sitting back on the couch to sitting attentively and cracking jokes back.

1:40 THIS!! I love this generation being comfortable to ask what something means that they don't understand or know the meaning of it. Take notes(Fellow) old head

This comment is completely incorrect...this current generation does NOT ask these questions if fact they feel very uncomfortable asking for clarification and rather say they feel attacked or some nonsense like that.

A smart man asks for clarity on what he doesn’t understand before responding. Stupid people are afraid to ask questions to learn what they don’t know. Faking til you make it only goes so far.
