It’s not really true Drake hate. It’s just everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of talking badly about him to fit in with the crowd. It’s the same phenomenon that happened with Bieber in 2010.
@BSmitty4rm8Fitty9 ай бұрын
People hate Drake because of his sustained success. It's the same reason they hate on Kevin Hart or Lebron James. At some point, their peers shared a stage with them and as time went on, they started performing on larger stages and their peers either remained stagnant or started performing on smaller stages. Instead of accountability they start hating and saying the booty bandits of Hollywood was working against them. Fans are the same way. When they heard Drake they were young and had ambitions as well. Drake continued success and their life didn't pan out the way they planned so they project onto anyone or anything that's successful. Drake just so happens to be a big target.

Then why don’t folk hate Adele, Kendrick, etc. Drake is hated because he represents the epitome of commercialized hip hop
@princebond9 ай бұрын
@@AttaManYou just replied to your own question. Kendrick simply is not as big as Drake commercially. With Adele its a bit different, although she is a commercial juggernaut herself, she comes and goes therefore she is not always in your ears like Taylor Swift and Drake always seem to be. Supply demand basically.
@AttaMan9 ай бұрын
@@princebond I didn’t. Eminem, Wayne, and 50 Cent were not viewed as the epitome of commercialized safe hip hop for white suburbanites. Drake is a rich kid from television industry who makes extremely formulaic hip hop music. That is why he is hated. And Kendrick has been a premier name in hip hop for over a decade now. Drake represents a whitewashed version of hip hop; ironically even more than Eminem which is hilarious.

Hip Hop and Rap are now classified as separate Genre's. A small group of people in the Rap community are making a lot of noise about the image of Drake as "not one of them"! Hip hop isn’t a “genre”, rather it is a culture, with multiple art forms: break dancing, graffiti, djing, and mc-ing (aka Rap music). Many people within the CULTURE of hip hop who are Mcs don’t like Drake because frankly he doesn’t meat their cultural standards. We can debate about if that’s fair, but that’s just facts. Some people will never respect him, because he isn’t meeting those cultural standards. Also, frankly a lot of Drake’s music IS pop. He is a pop star, he makes pop music. He also makes R&B. He also raps. You can do multiple things as an artist dawg.
@MindMadnessGuns9 ай бұрын
@osimiri7111 hip hop and rap are genres....within the genre, we annointed the art form as "culture" because of the aesthetics (vibe, dress code, etc.). Drake's dad was a jazz artist, which is another genre of music! Drake is hip-hop but makes pop music. His awards are in hip-hop, not pop. People hate on him because he's not gangsta! Dwags, I'm from the birthplace of hip-hop BX boro..started out on turntables, then rhymes! I know music and culture!!
