The dingo ate my baby case irritates me so much! The fact that her poor mother was put on trial after losing her child is just heartbreaking. It doesn't take too much logic to figure out that she didn't do it. She had 3 kids. She'd been through it all before. There is literally no reason for her to kill 1 of her babies. If she didn't want her or couldn't handle her, she just wouldn't have gone through 9 month of pregnancy and child birth. And if she were at her breaking point, why not kill the other 2? It just makes no sense at all, and is so sad that she had to get retraumatized by going through that trial. the justice system never fails to befuddled me.
@SupernovaV232 жыл бұрын
And what's so sad as well is the courts didn't care about all the costs and hardships they caused the family. There are also probably some people who will believe she did it too, despite the evidence saying otherwise.

Yeah, the police interviewed some native Australians and they said it was absolutely possible that the dingo ate her baby.
@toxiczombiewolf56922 жыл бұрын
Right? Like the evidence of an animal attack was there and not murder and they choose to sentence 2 innocent people instead of doing their fucking job. It makes me so angry that that justice system ruined this women's life because what a dingo killing a baby was too much? Not to mention that poor baby never got to grow up because the dad made the mistake of feeding wildlife that would come back for more food. I truly hope that family can recover from this and the baby rests in peace and the man who fell to his death too.
@lShadow426l2 жыл бұрын
At the time Dingo population being a threat was becoming very public and the government (rightfully) would be blamed for the death due to incompetence. The lawyer I also believe was a public one too meaning that 1.3 mil was just a partial forgiveness of what the family owes. Not only do they refuse to apologize for turning her into a scape goat but they're still demanding more money from the false convictions.

I actually never heard of the Dingo case. I had heard the saying "maybe a dingo at your baby" from Seinfeld but I never actually looked up the case. And would hear some people saying that the dingo was a mythical creature but from this case, I see that it isn't a myth. I think it's awful that the parents had to go through something like that especially with the mother, Lindy being accused and thrown in prison for murdering her baby. I can't imagine what she must have felt after being accused of murder. The justice system can be really messed up. I looked up pictures of the dingos and was shocked that they are actually a breed of wild dogs. They look creepy.

At the time I got married, my now ex was familiar with the term "dingoes ate your baby" from Seinfeld, but had never heard of this story. She used the term to reference people trying to cover for themselves by telling wild stories. I was the other way around: I knew of the story, but had never watched any sitcoms (as I absolutely hate canned laugh tracks and can't stand to watch shows that include them) and was thus unfamiliar with the Seinfeld reference. My then wife was quite shocked when I told her about the actual case. (No, telling her about it had nothing to do with the relationship not lasting. We simply "grew in different directions" and separated amicably years later.)

I wouldn't be surprised. There had to be reasons he was not given primary custody. It's a shame. Her mother fought hard to get them free of him only for him to steal away 2 years ofher life, likely more with all the crap he probably put her through. I hope he gets found and prosecuted and the truth of those two years comes out. I have a hard time believing her saying she ran away when there was literally no sign of her, be it from phone, internet, social media, visual sightings. Him getting her dogs at that shelter... When you cut a parent off, rarely do you just cut contact with everyone you've ever known. The fact even her friends weren't contacted, no extended family, nothing? I hate the stigma of, refusing to speak to police and getting a lawyer doesn't look good or it makes you look guilty. I have a friend in law enforcement and they said that there's nothing guilty about not wanting to go to prison or self incriminate. Every lawyer advises against talking to police because they're just looking to catch someone. You should always ask for a lawyer, ESPECIALLY if you're innocent. A lot of people think that being helpful and honest with police won't backfire when more often than not it does. Edit: unless you're the victim of a crime, then of course you tell police everything.
@SupernovaV232 жыл бұрын
Police are not supposed too be biased but they're people too and they can have a bad amount of tunnel vision. They can also easily twist around that honesty to fit the narrative. I remember when I was young many years ago the police were supposedly there to help you. But I also remember when I was 13 and the police were trying to falsely accuse me of starting a fire. When dealing with police. The best thing you can do for yourself is not say anything. And if you can get a lawyer? Definitely get a lawyer. I don't really blame the police. Just watch some TV shows like bait car, The First 48 hours or any real life police show. The police always have to deal with people that are lying through their teeth on a constant basis. You can get jaded after a while. Especially when watching bait car. They literally have a video showing what went on and these people are lying their asses off!
@petersolberg18942 жыл бұрын
So very, very true. I know that and I'm white. Most cops are not your friend and do not have your best interest at heart. They have this us vs them mentality. And that bullshit cop attitude that they drill into these guys at police academy is a huge part of the problem. You NEED cops to be authentic and real if you want to deescalate 80-90% of these situations. Acting like a totalitarian douchebag is not professional.

Two months was all she was given in this world. Then to be accused of slitting her throat and murdering your own flesh and blood, lost in such a horrific way. My own little scary story: I live in Germany. To get home from work I drive thru large wood-areas at night a couple of times per week. It now happened twice to me, that people in dark clothing were trying to hide from me as soon as they saw my bike light approaching. But as my light is super powerful I could clearly see them from far away. That really creeped me out both times. What were they doing in the middle of the night in the middle of the woods without any light? I think they were up to no good. As my bike is a powerful homemade e-bike with 1500 watts I speeded up as fast as I could to pass the area where I saw the creeps going into the woods.

if the government had to admit dingos were dangerous and killed a baby it would’ve ruined tourism. back then, and even still to today, people LOVE dingos. even the father in the story was feeding them or whatever. people like the wild dogs and visiting them. if Australia said “hey dingos brutally killed this little baby” less people would want to go.

I saw the movie with Meryl Streep. Was it true that the baby’s clothes were found intact ? As you ‘lived it ‘ do you think the parents were innocent and it really was a dingo or not?
@LoubyLou212 жыл бұрын
@@cherrymetha3185 Considering her baby suit was still buttoned but inside out, I wouldn't have thought it be a dingo. And it was buried, suggesting human involvement. Was it the mother? I couldn't say. Maybe it was someone else and the dingo had the remains. I guess only she knows the truth.

Speaking about the dingo story I can only give the opinion of a father. I personally wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving a 2 month old in a tent with her very young older brothers. That fact alone made me wonder about her involvement. Especially with wild dogs in the area. But that's just my opinion. I would have kept that baby in the tent with me and my partner.

@jellyt87672 жыл бұрын
Yes. A two month old baby is still considered a newborn. Too early to be bringing the baby camping and feeding wild animals is asking for trouble. IMO, camping is not really relaxing for someone who just gave birth.

This continues to bother me each time I come across this story because I have this burning question.. Why would a two month infant be put to sleep in a tent with her brothers? She should have been in the same tent as her parents!

Curtis Reeves was found not guilty this year. Despite murdering a man in cold blood. This is just more evidence that (1) no one in their right mind should ever choose to live in Florida and (2) the American "justice" system continues to be corrupt and selective. It's plain to see: your guilt or innocence has nothing to do with what you do, but who you are (in this case, a retired cop)

So Chad decided to escalate a situation that could easily had been neutralized if he just put his phone on silent then try to humiliate an old man which resulted and essentially assaulting someone because he did throw popcorn at him whether you like it or not it's assault then got himself shot and his wife severely injured now not only do his children no longer have a father but his wife doesn't have a hand and there's massive amount of trauma because that's multiple families destroyed not just him not just the shooter but the people who are traumatized from this event and yet Chad was described as "chill" unbelievable. I also want to say the old man was in the wrong as well no one's life should ever be taken for stupidity honestly this is something that should have been handled in court but I believe this often happens too much and truly is the reason behind a lot of killing emotional maturity is something humanity really needs .
@honkytonkdog71412 жыл бұрын
Ikr. They spelled "self defense" all wrong. How did the old man know this dude, an upstanding citizen who I'm sure had no history of being a hot head military tough guy, was just "innocently" going to dump popcorn on his head, which btw isn't how adults handle criticism and arguments. Oh he was just trying to humiliate him not hurt him.... By jumping out of his seat and making a fast paced aggressive swinging motion towards someone's face? What a bizarre take!

That Wisconsin one near the end was really disturbing. Glad the kid was seemingly returned to safety? It doesn’t make any sense though.. If that guy was arrested was he not actually a social worker that the kid was fleeing from? If the kid was from a broken home and CPS was taking him away, I could see him doing something scary or violent while in the social worker’s car, which could prompt him to just stop the car and shock, which would’ve allowed the kid to flee.. But it feels like the guy wouldn’t have been arrested and jailed if that’s truly what was going on. So messed up that the little dude went back with what seemed to be his kidnapper in order to try and make the teen girl feel better. 😢
@Samantha-xp8cn2 жыл бұрын
Right! I came down to the comments looking to see if someone mentioned this story. It really bothered me that they kept chastising her for helping the kid and saying that she shouldn't have gotten involved. Okay... so the alternative is to leave a child on the side of the road in an obviously suspicious/dangerous situation? Yeah, sure officer, it would have been so much better for the child's welfare if no one got involved or helped. Like what?? I did not understand their logic at all.
@marciturner4980 Жыл бұрын
Instead of letting it bother you when someone is texting and tattle to employee about it, just move somewhere else away from the texting person. Problem solved. You never tell a person what you done behind their back about them. Just stay quiet about it and let the employee in form the person about needing to leave. Keep your complaint anonymous. This will prevent chaos unlike in theater situation. Also, if customers wants to text in public as theater, keep your key pads on complete silence. You don't need keypad sounds on anyway.
